I was tuning around channels the other morning and tuned into "Imus In the Morning". He had some inane/insane comments and suddenly he went on a rant. He was defending that commie bit*h who said kids should be brought up by the "collective". He also defended the word 'collective' stating it was NOT a communist word.
He called Sarah Palin a number of names, he called Rush a fat, pill popping pig plus few other nasty names. His 'sidekick' Colin McShane just sat there and agreed half heartedly (he strikes me as being terminally stupid). He ranted like a village idiot for about a minute and then sat back to meander on some other subject.
I have seen that blonde bimbo who claims to be his wife and a blonde from FOX who just sat back and cowered. It is obvious Imus was impaired. Everyone seemed embarrassed for Imus as if they had to endure this kind of tripe regularly. His wife has some of the weirdest ideas and he has a son that could use some community upbringing.
For a guy who was a poster boy for anti-drug groups, he has had to beg forgiveness from a Black Girls sports group and admits that some kids from a previous marriage hate him, he has no business judging anyone.
That was an interesting 10 minutes.
OH, he has as guests some of the most off key C&W performers I have ever heard.

I have never listened to Imus even when he was in Cleveland, EITHER time. He is a Jackass drunk drug addict and always will be.
I have no idea how he stays on the air simply because he is a mumble mouth. After all it is radio, how the Hell does anyone with that bad of a mumble stay employed?
Dementia
Every time I have seen him, he looks pretty well boxed out by something, lots of drawling, mumbling kind of noncomprenhensional BS.
Imus is the same. He's wacky and off-color, but once you've listened to him over the course of several weeks you really get a sense of just how much of what he says is really just tongue-in-cheek nonsense. A good indicator of this is the borderline abusive treatment he gets from some of his own regular guests ("Is that your wife or your daughter, Don?" ... "Are we going to hear about your prostate cancer again, Don? I don't need to hear about your urinary tract defects." ... "You look like Rose Kennedy wearing a cowboy hat." ... etc., etc.).
If nothing else, it's worth noting that even though he doesn't have the best ratings in the radio business, he has commanded incredibly high advertising rates for his radio show over the years. This is because his typical listeners tend to be in very high income brackets, and they listen to him while commuting to work in the morning.
He has good guests and staff, and Deidra’s cute, so let him go....

He got a FORTY MILLION DOLLAR pay out when he was removed from the air. His lawyer was intending a $120 million suite and he would have won. He doesn’t need the money.
ROFL — I forgot all about that one. There was some website that ran this hilarious photo contest ... it was called “Men Who Look Like Old Lesbians” or something like that. Imus was among the top celebrities who made the list. He still takes a small bit of pride (or distress) in that.
