PP (not Phillip Phillips), I finally saw the finale on my Roku late today. It must have taken awhile to upload everything and upload all the ads too.

I was really impressed by Kree and Candace's duet! I liked Angie and Adam Lambert as they both seem to like the same genre - what a great tour that would be. I'd go see Angie and Adam. Aretha idea was stupid - I lost interest after so many whoop whoops. The worst was Mariah. It was Mariah and Mariah singing backup. She kept the mic right by her mouth cuz it sure didn't sound "live" at all. I finally had to click away from that stuff. It was as awful as her video. She needs a makeover. I didn't watch Psy. The guys were pretty bland but I always liked Devon and Paul Jolley.

I watched the same Nissan commercial over and over and over. Roku brings you the same ad for a month and then changes it.

BTW: I found out today that Kris Allen was in a car accident on New Years and hurt his arm. He is going to have his wrist fused so that it will stop hurting. He said that he'll still be able to play the guitar.

Finally, don't cry for Ryan Seacrest who just inked a deal to start his own talent show with Telemundo. CH CHING. He'll be the man, not just the host.

Ken5050 said Frankie Vallie looked embalmed. I think he looked like he'd just passed away.

You should get a stool for hitting 7,000.

I REALLY enjoyed Kree, Keith and Randy on that upbeat Keith tune about the blacktop whatever. Now why didn’t they give Kree some upbeat songs to choose from? That would have made a difference for me, anyhow.

JLo does another crap dance mix and sings the same lyrics over and over and she looked like she’s had some recent work done. They didn’t do too many closeups of her but she looked like she was in her late teens with Sunin in her hair too.

Did Nikki M. do anything? If she didn’t Roku didn’t show it. Maybe she didn’t want to do anything. She can tone it down if they insist.

Angie was one of my top two. Seems like older people were voting this time around. Rock did not win this year. Candace could definitely sing the next theme for the next James Bond movie imo.

>>You should get a stool for hitting 7,000.<<

No need for an entire stool — a sample will do.

Congrats to Candice.

Thank you, jonny, for another season of hosting the AI thread.

Though I didn’t post much, I did read all your marvelous recaps.

See you next year (but only if there are ALL new judges.)

Agree on the Candice / Kree duet. To me that really showed the difference in their voice, presentation, etc.

Good for Seacrest. To me, he’s matured a lot over the seasons, and balanced out some of the ridiculous , and at times hurtful comments to the contestants.

Regarding your other post Minaj just sat there google eyed most of the show.

She’s as ridiculous as her outfits, and a unfortunately a sign of what the entertainment industry thinks viewers really want...

The funniest thing is that Moo-riah is STILL mad about Jello ‘stealing’ her songs from Glitter. (one of the worst movies ever)

York County [PA] couple in stabbing incident over 'American Idol'

“As Karen Elaine Harrelson, 48, and Gregory L. Stambaugh, 57, were watching "American Idol" in the basement of Stambaugh's West Manchester Township home Wednesday, May 15, the two got into an drunken argument over which contestant - Candice Glover or Kree Harrison - should win the season's title”

Not looking good for either regarding sales.

AI may have sounded their own death knoll with how they handled the whole
season

Today’s News: Our Take
Report: Harry Connick Jr. Joins American Idol as Third Judge

Harry Connick Jr. is returning to American Idol full-time. The former mentor is in the process joining Idol’s upcoming 13th season as the third judge, according to the The Hollywood Reporter.

Dr. Luke was originally slated to help replace departing judges Mariah Carey, Randy Jackson and Nicki Minaj, but he dropped out of negotiations last week due to a conflict with his label at Sony Music. Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun was also rumored to be the next possible frontrunner, but he reportedly passed.

Connick will join returning judges Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez, the latter of whom served as judge for Season 10 and Season 11.

On Thursday evening, Idol creator Simon Fuller hosted a party to celebrate the new judging panel with Connick Jr., Urban, Lopez and Jackson, who reportedly will continue with the show in Jimmy Iovine’s role as full-time mentor, in attendance. The next morning, host Ryan Seacrest tweeted, “Got some @AmericanIdol news coming for you very soon...”

Are you excited about Connick joining Idol?
