Well we made it through another one, lol. And this one wasn't easy. But as always, all of you make it fun and--in this case--worth the torture :)
Idol will return next year, in what form, we don't know. But unless the producers do something really stupid, like keep Minaj--or replace her with someone just as bad--there's no reason why we can't have a thread to laugh with each other and to forget our own problems for a few hours each week.
So until then, keep it real, Dogs. And whatever you do, stay in it to win it :)

Rofl! From someone who hears elmo several times a day!! I loved the Jersey Boys but I don’t think even that guy sung as high as Frankie tonight.
Mariah lip synced!! And horribly, if even I can see it!! Aren’t these “stars” ashamed not to sing live, when all the contestants can?? I am so ashamed for her. To lip sync on a live show is egocentric and cheap and cowardly. Especially when you are supposed to be an expert.
The lead singer I saw was a dead on voice for Frankie.
Also,interesting to learn Joe Pesci discoved Frankie V.
Yes, it was great. I winced a little at the language, but the singer was out f this world and dead on. And when he says, “yes, THAT Joe Pesci.” Hilarious. It is a fantastic musical. If you don’t mind a lotta F bombs.
I saw that too, but after reviewing, I think it was just an audio synchronization issue. I don't think Mariah lip synced. We'll see what the verdict ends up being.
Psy is just freaky. Freaky. He hates America, who has made him very rich. And the idiots at the judges’ table give him a standing O?

Dang, I am reading this AFTER I saw the show so I am trying to remember what he looked like. Nothin. But Keith looked pretty good. I like his mellow style. He is truly just a mellow guy. I feel so sorry for him with that wife.

That is how you saw that?? I put my hand over my mouth and remarked to Mr. yaelle that holy smokes, CANDACE IS BETTER THAN JENNIFER HUDSON! She really is. Jennifer opens her Emmy and Oscar winning mouth and this yelling sound comes out, and it is grating on the ear. Candace has more power but no yell. Her voice is in a “sing” mode, and it sounds pleasant. She really has better tone. And she feels the notes and runs better, she’s more natural and clean and purer.
I am predicting a huge career for her. She can do anything.

Aretha doesn’t look anywhere as close to as “good” as she looks in your photo. At least we could not see those — did you say puppies? — I’d have to call them full grown dogs.
Thanks for the congrats. I would have been happy with Kree winning too. I admit to choking up when Candace was singing I am Beautiful. It’s a nice song, and she deserves to feel beautiful.

Thank you so much for hosting this wonderful thread. I did forget my problems and laughed my head off each time I read through. When I watch the show, pre-thread, I am thinking, “oh, I bet they noticed THAT,” or “wonder what they said about THIS!” It makes the show really fun, even as sucky as it’s been this season.

Respect your opinion , but did see it the other way around.
I will admit Jennifer was putting all out effort into it. Sort of , I didn’t make
the finale, but don’t try to outdo me.

Agree on the language , but the story, singing makes up for it in the end.
Especially interesting if , as I did, you grew up in that era.
