One in 29 French people don't take a shower even once a WEEK - while 13% do not wash their hands after using the toilet
One in 29 people in France only take a shower once a week, according to a new survey.
The study into French washing habits also found that one in five do not shower every day.
On the other end of the scale, 11.5 per cent of French men and women shower several times daily.
Hand washing, too, is not always a priority for the French, said pollster BVA, which was commissioned to carry out the survey by hygiene product company Tork. One eighth of those questioned said they didnt bother washing their hands after going to the toilet and 45 per cent admitted they didnt scrub up after being on public transport even though 54% thought buses and trains were the dirtiest objects in daily life.
More than one in five said they didnt wash their hands before sitting down for a meal.
The bath is in decline with only 18 per cent of French people who take one once a week and 61% who say they do not bathe frequently.
The French are more aware of hygiene when they are cooking - 86.6 per cent say they always wash their hands before preparing food.
Young people are also less concerned about cleaning toilets than their elders: from 18 to 34 years, 18.9 per cent cleaned the toilet every day, against 44.9 per cent for those aged 50 to 64 years and 58.7 per cent of those over 65.

Muzzies?
Taking a shower may be taxed in France..
Actually, I would not be surprised if the same study, if conducted in America, turned out very similar results.
Wow....nobody wants to be down draft of me even after one day...without a shower
I would damn near be ripe after week...
Explains the popularity of the bidet in France. They can tolerate the smell of BO but not the smell of ass.
Can you imagine taking a trans-Atlantic flight on Air France?
Earthy...
Can’t help myself ... Best Bread I have ever had was in Lorraine France, I would awake at 3:00AM to make sure I could pig out before my 6:00AM briefing.

Have you ever used a European shower? They’re darn near useless. I’ve had cats pee on me with more force....
Millions of people risked their lives coming to the New World to get away from European food.
Use hydrogen peroxide; bleach is poison. HP kills enough germs for anybody. HP in a spray bottle makes a good spray cleaner for kitchen and bathroom counters. - Antibacterial stuff has caused germs to adjust and defeat the antibiotics we have available. HP kills the stink, not just cover it up. - Dr. Oz recommended keeping a bottle of pure eucalyptus oil by the potty, drop in a drop, put lid down, then flush; that way germs don’t spritz out into the room, and the eucalyptus smells good.
Good tips, thank you. But I gotta have that poison for the laundry.
I’m not much of a traveler, but per my one trip to a predominantly French city (Brussels Belgium) about 20 years ago, one of my most lasting memories was the extremely strong smell of perfume almost everywhere I went. Airport, taxis, hotels, museums, restaurants, even on the streets - didn’t matter. Perfume everywhere. It really made me wonder what they were trying to cover up.
“..I gotta have that poison for the laundry.”
Yeah; me, too. A little bit of it, anyway. For whitening and to make really nasty stuff at least seem cleaner. It takes a whole bunch of hydrogen peroxide for the laundry and gets expensive to use enough of it for that. Use less than I used to anyway.
Darksheare, someone’s dissin’ coffee...
