Can someone please help me figure out how I can block/filter out the catholic posts that have the huge long picture files?
When I browse latest posts or latest articles, there are some of these posts that contain huge long pictures etc that disrupt the flow of scanning titles for interesting reads.
I have nothing against Catholics, just spam.

There should be an option/setting on your phone browser to not display pictures automatically.

I’m sure it isn’t like John has nothing better to do with his time, but may he can address that if you pass the suggestion along to the mod.
I was wrong about not being able to link to individual posts (see MaryFromMichigan's post). I've never tried to link to very old threads, but I'd expect the thread and post addresses to stay the same (or if there's a change, to have a simple system of updating the addresses).
That’s what I thought, that the links don’t change, even after many years.
If you save the link to a post, it will keep working.

I would love that feature. There are some particularly boring cut and pasters who hit every thread on whatever topic and post their long tedious rants. It would be nice to block them and for them to know they are being blocked by x number of people. It might help correct their actions.
I AM Catholic and agree... lots of text and pictures. However, I just click out of it. Same with posts that are all caps... I just disregard. I dont let TV or anything online make me prisoner... I am in charge of the keyboard and our remote so we read and watch what WE want.
Now that the serial pervs have been dealt with, I’d like to say I’m in total agreement with you. Those posts are tedious at best, and counterproductive at the worst.

Dittoes on the Freepathon comments. I think most Religion threads do more harm than good to the community of Free Republic. I know the RM just had to post yet another “reminder” thread of what to do and what not do do. These Religion threads are way past silly and divisive; they are running off FReepers and they should be abolished. More people would appreciate it and donate more. IMHO.
I had no idea there was this kind of spam on the Catholic threads. But I’m not too surprised.
Can anyone post me a link to such a thread? I have a fast internet connection, and I’m curious. I’d like to see that kind of crap. Don’t ask me why. I’m just curious.

I was curious enough to do my own research and found the culprit responsible for the spam. Dude. Why do you do this? As you can see - you are pissing FReepers off.

As I say... I would never click on such a thread like that in the first place. But even for the poor slobs who are are using a I-phone or tablet and they do accidently open such a thread... Sucks for them.
And I’ve also said that FR would be a far more enjoyable place - which would increase donations - if there wasn’t so much spam, duplicate threads, Religion threads, blog-pimp threads and etc. etc.
But I don’t run this place. JR does. And he don’t take my advice. So we just complain about the way things are.
Funny how we took parallel paths to the same culprit. Well, I guess it isn’t really all that funny based on what you just said, but you know what I mean.
