Loads of TV programs this week. Apologize if I've repeated anything already posted, or missed anything. Or, with all these stupid channels now, gotten any of their precious names wrong or incomplete.

Thanks very much.

So let it be written, so let the ping be done. I didn't even realize so many programs were upcoming.

Wonder when they will load up History channel 2 with nothistory and create HC3 for history. I have basic cable and only get History/nothistory channel. Why do these channels move away from the subject that they are supposed to be about??? Maybe the food channel will start showing shows about history and I will have a history channel again.

I’ve been considering selling my collection of Titanic literature at this time for years, but find myself quite attached to the books and misc. stuff too much to really act on it. I have a rare copy of ‘Home From the Sea’ by Capt. Rostron, one of the memorials written in May of 1912 and the usual bric-a-brack like coal from the Titanic, reproduction tea cup and the like. Probably 30-40 volumes in all with films, printed matter and odd bits. I’d sell, but, again, I’ve grown quite fond of all that dust collecting rubbish.

Do I hear any bids?

I just read an old thread saying it’s showing on Sat.

I don’t understand my DVR sometimes - I put in “Titanic” and not everything shows up - or, some lesbian sicko fest will show up because it used the word. I tried looking specifically for NTR since maybe it actually didn’t see “Titanic” in it, but nothing yet.

Meanwhile, someone the other week posted TCM will show the movie Sat!

I have a reminder to ping the Titanic list as well as alert Vision, who runs the TCM Classic Movie list, on Thursday of this week. The TCM showing of A Night to Remember will be Saturday night (April 14, 2012) at 9:00 PM Eastern.

Above, David McCallum, also noted for his role in The Man from U.N.C.L.E., on the right as Marconi Wireless operator Harold Bride.

I’ll post it, Friday. Are you sure it’s on at 9pm est Sat? That’s not a normal start time.

Whew! Good catch and thanks. My agenda item here at work shows 21:00 (9 PM) for the showing but, as it turns out, I used my local time (Central). The showing, using Eastern Daylight Time, will be at 22:00 (10 PM) this Saturday night for TCM's A Night to Remember.

One of the comments from the cited URL, above, pretty much nails it IMHO:

The most recent Titanic was technically a better film; ie. the sets were historically accurate, the special effects were better, and more was known about the final minutes of the tragedy. However, for the raw feel of what it must have been like that terrible night, and the added story of the California and the Carpathia, this films tells the story much better. The British cast and the B&W film, doesn't hurt it either. You get many more sides of the story, not only first class, but crew, steerage, and the rescue attempt. A superior Film, not to be missed by any Titanic enthusiast. (Neil Castellon 9/20/08)

Turns out, there really is trouble in DirecTV land. I searched specifically for NTR and it came up “none”. Then I went through the Guide, brute-forcing it down to Saturday, and there it is.

My husband said some have been complaining lately about Search in DirecTV.

So who knows how many other things I’m missing?

I have been reading a weird recent release book about Titanic 2012 that involves an alien species that was aboard and is still on board awaiting to infect a deep salvage team and to infect all mankind, totally cheesy.
