Guns N' Roses to reunite for Hall of Fame (the original 5!)

CLEVELAND, Feb. 15 (UPI) -- All of the original members of Guns N' Roses are to attend the band's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, keyboardist Dizzy Reed said.

Lead singer Axl Rose is the only founding member of the band still performing under the Guns N' Roses name. The group, which was established in 1985, is to be honored at the Hall of Fame ceremony April 14. Reed has been playing with the band for about 20 years.

"I know that all the original band is going to be there," Reed told Billboard.com. "I don't know exactly what's going to go down. It's one of those things I'm sure will all come together and be really cool. I'm just going to go in with a good attitude and a clear head and a grateful heart."

The very first show that I went to as a kid..GNR. Pothead uncle bought the tickets while he was dancing to Mr. Brownstone and his girl. ;)

This ought to be interesting if for no other reasons than A: seeing if Axl can find the place and be there on time, and B: if he and Slash can make it through - if not to - a performance without trying to beat the hell out of each other. I also wonder if Rose won't pull a stunt like trying to bring Buckethead or Bumblefoot onstage with him. And will Gilby Clarke or Matt Sorum show up? Does Axl still weigh 275 pound now? The dude has had an extra plate or three of buffalo wings in the last year or so:

Inquiring minds want to know.

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

Does the laughingstock Rock and Roll “Hall of fame” still have the “Rob Argent” exhibit?

AWESOME!!!! (GNR was my first ever favorite band)

I’m afraid Axl has lost a bit more than a step over the years though. lol

A bud of mine who saw GNR in Brazil recently said he lost weight compared to the past years. But the crowd didn’t care as it sold out. LOl, same here, will Axl and Slash co-exist together.

Well, if Diamond Dave and Eddie van halen let bygones be for their current tour, why not?

Appetite’ is still my breakfast album until today. I had tix for Metallica AND GNR in Vancouver until the Montreal riot happened. After Montreal, Vancouver was next but Axl being Axl (meaning prick) he started the infamous riot far worse than the St Louis one..that’s OK, I saw them with Adler on drums before Sorum replaced him.

I'm surprised the originals are still alive.

I had some co-workers who were heavily into GNR back then. I remember they had a song about killing the girl friend and burying her in the back yard.

I liked hardcore rock, but that was a bit too much for me.

Never liked them. I found the guitar player (Smash? Stash? Crash?) to be quite boring, and not particularly talented.

Cool. I had the pleasure of seeing the infamous show where Duff got whacked in the head with a beer bottle full of piss. They cancelled the show only 30 minutes or so into the set. I never appreciated GnR until The Spaghetti Incident came out with One In A Million. Then I realized they had talent and weren’t just riding off the popularity of Appetite For Destruction
Asking crap LA metal like so many others were then.

They have one good album, and people want to put them in the Hall of Fame? Really?

These guys have been at it a lot longer and still put out great stuff. They don't get a bid at all? Huh?

I agree. If it wasn’t for the bands of the late 70’s, early 80’s hard rock bands, you would not of heard of Runs & Posies! I’m sorry to all G N’R fans. His voice just makes me think of somebody running their fingernails over a chalkboard. Even the singer from Tesla has a better voice, and I say this as a fan of Tesla. Tesla is my favorite band actually. At least they have 4/5 of the original band.
