If USCCB cared about abortion

TOPICS: Business/Economy; History; Religion
KEYWORDS: abortion; catholicbishops; illegals; vanity
If The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops were as militant about abortion as they are about Alabama's state law on illegals, every Catholic politician and doctor would be shaking from the fear of excommunication. What a bunch of self-serving, pompous, power hungry jerks!

One Catholic here who agrees with him....

Bishops’ opinions don’t represent the official position of the Catholic Church any more than your opinions (or mine) represent the official position of Free Republic.

The Bishops conference is another excuse for liberals sitting around acting as if they are doing something and not accomplishing anything.

For example - Cuomo should not be receiving communion.

It is not for me to judge the state of his soul- nor do I wish to - my own soul is in need of repair.

However - the difference is scandal in the sense that when (supposed) leaders are given a pass - then the wrong message is sent.

Self serving, pompous, power hungry jerks -Amen

In before the Catholic pack shows up to rip your guts out.

That was not a very nice way to respond. All of you make a mockery of religion with those kinds of posts. That might be expected of a follower of Islam. Nation was not founded on that kind of dialogue.

No I am making a mockery of the “defenders” of the Church no matter what issues or how stupid they look doing.

This nation was founded on freedom, one of which is the freedom of speech. If you think the founders sat around over tea and had poltie discussions with each other you are a fool.

it’s a propblem I wrote about some time ago - it’s because they no longer beleive in God. if they did, they would pay far more attention to the Word, and less to popular opinion.

just sayin’

Get out the vote walking around $$$$$. This nation has as many corrupt politicians as we have corrupt holy men.

I don’t think abortion is high on their list of priorities. In my archdiocese, we have Respect Life Sunday on one Sunday in October. I think it’s deplorable that the killing of helpless little babies is relegated to one Sunday a year. Every day, let alone Sundays, should be for the respect of life and put everything else as secondary.

You are crossing the line. In fact, scripture directs one not to call another a fool. If you can’t have a civil discussion, then’t don’t write anything to me at all. I don’t get into heated discussions with words with anyone any more. If you can’t back up what your mouth produces, close it. That kind of invective does NOT represent what Jesus taught in the Bible at all — you’re no different than a radical Muslim if you keep that up.
