Singer Amy Winehouse checked into a treatment facility on Wednesday, the singer's rep confirmed.
Winehouse "has embarked on a treatment program at the Priory Clinic," the rep said, according to Britain's Daily Mail. "She wants to be ready for performances in Europe this summer and decided to seek an assessment. She will remain at the Priory on doctors' advice."
A source close to the "Rehab" singer told People magazine that Winehouse's father, Mitch, encouraged her to seek help: "Her dad sat her down and said 'I think you're drinking too much again.' So she agreed to go an assessment to stop it becoming a bigger problem."
According to multiple reports, Winehouse downed a miniature bottle of vodka before checking into the clinic.
"In true Amy style, she stopped off for one last hurrah and bought a mini bottle of Smirnoff," a friend told the Mail.
This isn't the first time she's sought treatment. In January 2008, she checked into a rehab facility to treat her addiction to drugs and alcohol.
Winehouse has a series of performances scheduled in Europe beginning June 18, including stops in Serbia, Greece, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Poland, Hungary and Romania.

I like the fact that the annual Amy thread doesn't conflict with the quarterly Lindsay Lohan rehab threads.
She is talented and the reference to the great Billie Holiday is apt both for the blues sound and the personal demons.
