Smollett is currently appealing his case in Chicago for lying about being attacked by Trump supporters after midnight in the freezing cold in an almost purely Democrat city. Is he trying to garner sympathy? Of course, it is possible that Smollett has resorted to substance abuse, knowing that his career is, for the most part, over.

A new study by researchers found that lower initial cortisol levels may serve as a predictor for retention in treatment programs for substance use disorder. The prospective observational study examined the salivary cortisol, stress exposure, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and treatment retention of males enrolled in abstinence-based, residential alcohol and drug recovery programs. ALBANY — Disgraced former Rep. Anthony Weiner will reportedly be spending his prison time at a federal medical center in northern Massachusetts. Weiner, who was sentenced in September to 21 months in prison, has been assigned to the Federal Medical Center, Devens, in Ayer, Massachusetts, City & State reported. The medical center, located about an hour’s drive northwest of Boston, is one of the few federal lockups that offer residential treatment programs for sex offenders, according to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons website.
