FRISCO, Colo. (AP) -- Colorado authorities say a paraplegic skier was killed after taking a hard fall at Arapahoe Basin Ski Area.
The Summit County Coroner's office says 51-year-old Jack Wade of Golden, Colo., used a "sit ski" device that allowed him to sit while going down the slopes.
The office says witnesses report that the edges of Wade's skis caught on the snow and he crashed "very hard" Thursday afternoon.

Very sad. Have to hand it to someone like that. In spite of his handicap, he lived life to the fullest.

Most likely ground.....

Even the best skiers can get into trouble in a hurry at A-Basin.

indeed ... headline word choice fault.
... was killed after taking a hard fall at Arapahoe Basin Ski Area.
the other skiers beat him to death for bad form in falling maybe?
Jokes aside, he had the moxie to get out there on the slopes and enjoy the sport. There are worse ways to go. Bravo Zulu, brave skier.
And I wonder if the paralyzing injuries came from the last hard fall (not having read the full article)?

I didn’t read the article, either, but I agree that he’s to be commended for pursuing a sport in spite of paralysis.

A-Basin: “Ahhhh SH*T!!!”
Wind blown steep slopes make for icy conditions.
