Was Stalin behind the Roswell UFOs?

UFO conspiracy theorists may be in for a letdown. A new book Area 51 by Annie Jacobsen says no alien spacecraft crashed to Earth in the famous so-called Roswell Incident of 1947. According to Britain's Telegraph, Jacobsen says the craft that smashed into the desert in a terrible storm was actually a top-secret Soviet plane with "grotesque, child-size aviators" bred in horrific human experiments and sent by Joseph Stalin to create panic in the U.S. Is that possible or is this story even harder to believe than tales of shipwrecked aliens?

It is as easy to believe as the last “Weather Ballon” story
Seriously- I have met people in the air force (no long retired and gone) who said there was stuff going on - and the daughter of one man who was there who told her everything.
It’s aliens

If it were a Stalin psyop, it would have occurred in a large metropolitan area where there would be lots of witnesses.
Why would you crash it in the middle of nowhere?

The Soviet archives have long been opened. There would have been documented proof of the plot. The Soviets kept excellent records.

I don’t recall hearing this theory before. And I don’t think I’ll buy or read the book.

The Roswell incident was not the first time such craft have appeared in U.S. skies.
There are instances of space craft appearing overhead in the Mississippi river area during the mid to late 19th century. These events were witnessed by thousands and articles written describing the events were printed in local newspapers of the day.

That "area" covers Minnesota to New Orleans. Must have been awfully big space craft.

Had an eye doctor once who’s husband worked at NASA. I asked her if her husband believed in aliens and her reply was “Everyone he works with believes. He says he’s seen pictures.” And she was being serious.

There is no other explanation. To many weird things surround Roswell.. How the Radio and paper put out that a “flying disk” was found then retracted a day later. Jessie Marcels son says he saw all the artifacts. To much. The government did not want to have mass panic. Plus as usual the government wanted to play with their new found technology.

I’ve twice seen something I cannot explain, was absolutely not weather, and I seriously doubt it was us. If it was ‘us’, we ought to be able to win the war on terror handily.

“There are instances of space craft...” this means plural events NOT one huge space craft.

Must have been an awful lot of plural events to cover 2300+ miles.

There were no real flying craft at the time, except for balloons. The news articles of the day described self-propelled metallic aircraft.
The Mississippi river drainage is huge. But a flying craft would have been difficult to miss as it would have been unique and startling to observers of the time and the same craft could have been seem by many from different vantages.
Steam-driven trains from that time are known to have traveled a couple hundred miles overnight on flat prairie land. No reason a space craft couldn’t have explored the primitive industrialized areas of the Midwest in the 19th century and be easily seen.
After all, what did the aliens have to fear; we didn’t have deadly rockets or missiles at that time in our history. The atomic bomb changed all that.

Oh yeah, those "primitive industrialized areas" were definitely big attractions for UFOs.
Just like today - aliens invent incredibly advanced technologies, travel light years to get here, then only reveal themselves to the people you see in Swamp Men.

Ask decorated Iraq war veteran, freeper Dr. Jesse Marcel Jr., his father was head of security at the first nuclear facility in the United States, Roswell New Mexico.
As we know from his eyewitness account, “the small I-Beam like shaped object and the thin metal (skin?) fragments” that his father brought home to show the family. And the next day told them that "it was a non-event and never to be spoken of again"!
(Note to Qx: please correct any errors in my above comment, thanks.)

Wife and I saw some “lights” in the skies over AZ late one night. Whatever they were when they “took off” they were traveling at the speed of light or faster. WHOOOOSH! And they were gone!
Like you said, if this stuff is ours we should be ruling the world.

Thanks EveningStar.

Once again, the skepticultists hoax up a phony explanation less credible that that a UFO crashed at Roswell.
