Most Republicans think the same laws and Constitutional rights apply to gays and lesbians as much as anyone else. They don't believe in special rights for them is all.

These are the kinds of things that make politics interesting. Would I be a sports fan if there wasn’t a human factor? While I disagree with the facts and premise of this article, there are unspoken similarities between parties?

Saying a President is a “big spender” is still odd, especially since Congress writes the budget. We all remember what demonization happens when a President tries to veto it.

I was nit picking but the overall point: that the GOP itself is not all that conservative, is true.

There are just not enough true conservatives to elect many officials to federal office.

Yeah, I hate the term “most”. And Bush is not my conservative litmus test. There are unpopular things done by Republicans(Bush giving $40 mil to fight AIDS in Africa). I will stand by my ideology BEFORE my political party.

They are more often Commanded by the President, we send them overseas often. I doubt that National Guard troops in foreign theaters are getting their orders from 50 different Governors. :)

1. Most Republicans are as socialist as the Left.
2. Public schooling is a socialist institution, paid for like a social welfare scheme, where socialist teachers teach socialism to conservatives’ kids.
3. There is no such thing as private property as long as property taxes and the threat of liens exist.
4. There is nothing inherently or historically conservative about our national standing military.
5. Republicans were the original spend-and-tax, big-government Progressives, and remain so today.

1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation.
5. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
