I am planning on doing a documentary on socialism in Sweeden, Norway, Denmark and other parts of Europe and Canada. I plan to upload it of Flix, Spike and YOUTUBE as well as a few other channels. It will be possibly in more than two parts. I am doing this because I have been reading up on liberals fawning over the system they have in scandanavia and have been challenged a few times on the subject. This is especially crucial in light of the controversy of universal healthcare ETC.
Specifically I need help with acquiring research matrial especially statistics charts and graphs as well as historical comparisons concerning unemployment numbers poverty and taxation ETC.
I will need this data to date back as far as the 90s. By comparing to America before the current economic downturn to Sweeden & Norway then, we can demonstrate the success of capitalism over socialism when it is practiced correctly.
Also stories of emigrants would be helpful as well. Especially the horrors of gov run healthcare. I got a couple already on Norway. :)

I’ve spent considerable time in Scandinavia, particularly Norway. You would be very hard put to find any average citizen that did not think they had the best in health care.

BTW Brasil makes a for a great comparison after the current socialist gov got elected. They managed to double unemployment by raising minimum wage and pushing more regulation

BTW, I have a lot of family living in Norway and could give you some anecdotal info on how "great" their socialized medicine is.
Norway has a lot of oil and they aren’t afraid to drill for it, so their oil wealth is paying for their socialism.
Also many nations have left it to the USA to pick up the huge military costs of being the world’s policeman which allows them to spend that money on social programs instead of defense. For example I read a report stating that New York City’s police force is larger than Canada’s military.
I have anecdotal evidence only re Norway. Norwegian relatives of some friends of mine on the east coast of USA tend to visit every couple of years. One of the things they LOVE to do here is go get full eye exams, RXs for new glasses or contacts, and receive them in hours or days, all while here on vacation. These Norwegians claim it would take them at least six months or more to get the exams and new glasses if they used their own ‘system.’
My own relatives are from Norway as well, and while they say they get good care, they admit they are taxed beyond belief for this ‘care.’ They are glad to have it, though, because it is the only system they know!
That's probably not going to work. It is actually easier to start and operate a business in Scandinavia than it is in the US. The high taxes, extensive welfare, nationalized health care, and strict labor laws that earn them the label "socialist", but their business climate is very free. The Pirate Bay could not have happened in the US or Britain for example.

I personally think ALL of these comparisons to the US system fail because none of the countries with ‘socialized medicine’ in place have anywhere near the population we have, nor the diversity. How do you compare the system of Norway, service some 4+ million, with our 300+ million inhabitants? Canada? Canada’s population is under 40 million. Same for the UK.
