What's Your Constitution I.Q.?
http://www.constitutionfacts.com ^

Posted on 01/13/2010 10:28:27 AM PST by Lucky9teen

Welcome to ConstitutionFacts.com where you'll see the entire text of the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence - and much more! You'll find interesting insights into the men who wrote the Constitution, how it was created, and how the Supreme Court has interpreted the United States Constitution in the two centuries since its creation.

The Constitution is certainly the most influential legal document in existence. Since its creation some two hundred years ago, over one hundred countries around the world have used it as a model for their own. And it is a living document. It is one of the world's oldest surviving constitutions. And, while the Supreme Court continually interprets the U.S. Constitution so as to reflect a rapidly changing world, its basic tenets have remained virtually unchanged since its inception, and unchallenged as well. People quarrel over its interpretation, but never do they question the wisdom of its underlying principles.

At ConstitutionFacts.com, you'll begin to see why. You'll get a taste of some of the Founding Fathers' thoughts. You'll see some of the reasoning behind the Supreme Court's landmark decisions. But, most importantly, you'll get a feel for the United States Constitution itself and how it is that a document that was written over 200 years ago still plays an integral role in our everyday lives.

4 in 10.

In my defense I’m not American and have never even read the Constitution.

So please treat 4 as the Internationally Agreed Level of Ignorance about all things American :0)

Well, you're probably doing better than most kids these days who are American.

I got 6 out of 10 on the basic one. A couple of reading mistakes on my part, which I then repeated in the advanced quiz (D'oh!). I missed 9 out of the 50.

I got all ten right, so I am disqualified from being in Congress or on the Supreme Court.

The Cons. is irretrievably gone. Absolutely dead. No respect for or knowledge of the enumeration = no Constitution. Period.

I took the advanced and got 49 out of 49. I blew it on the 50th. Dang, I forgot that it takes 3/4th, not 2/3d vote of the states for an amendment to be passed. I knew that.

The creators of this web site have provided names, dates, and places, but little of the ideas and principles which are critical to any real understanding of the Founders’ Constitution. The information about the signers of the Declaration of Independence, for example, focus on position and wealth, without providing readers any feeling for the tremendous sacrifices and services of those brave and courageous men.

I got it, but I missed #1, how many constitutions have we had. Okay, effectively the Articles of Confederation were a constitution, but we’ve only had one “constitution” — the other was a set of articles of confederation.

47/50 and 48/50 on the two following tests. Not too shabby. And I think I missed 3 of those 5 by clicking one answer before I saw that “all of the above” was an option.

I got 19 of 20 on SCOTUS. Tie votes are so rare I didn’t know what happened in those cases.

You made me LOL, seriously. I took all of the tests and stunk at the Articles of Confederation and did the best on the Supreme Court. My son was just reading about the Articles today and I asked him one of the questions. I didn’t believe him and picked another answer... he was right.

Thanks to the provider of those links.

You’re right — that question needs to be rephrased. It is misleading —
