Police were called out to Fair Park in Dallas Saturday after someone fired a gun into the crowd at Kwanzaa Fest.

Soon after the shooting the crowds started to get out of hand. Witnesses describe the scene as a riot. Several people were yelling at officers while others were reportedly throwing rocks at them.

Dallas police say around 3:30 p.m. a 15-year old boy shot. It's not clear whether he was involved in a crime or he was an innocent victim. Police were unable to located the shooter.

Police say they started the night with two crowd control units in place. Once the crowd problems started, police arrested three people, two for assault and one for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. The shooting victim was hospitalized and is expected to make a full recovery.

Officers dressed in riot gear and the mounted patrol was called out to help. Eventually there were 60 to 80 officers on scene.

Kwanzaa is the biggest horseshit holiday on the calendar..a day created by a violent gang member in his prison cell.

Fantastic.

Add to that the fact that it is 100% racist.

It is, it's only celebrated by guilt-ridden white liberals.

It looks like someone who celebrates kwanzaa writes/proofreads the articles for this particular news department.

Kwanza is a rip off of the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah. They totally ripped off our Menorah and called it their own

On the first day of Kwanzaa
My true love said to me
"Aaack! I've been shot! Call 911!"

That’s one pillar of Kwanzaa down, six to go.

LOL, you will be surprised on how many people in America thinks it is a Holiday. I told this to a group of co-workers and there happened to been a guy of color there. Of course he called me a racist...so I asked him if he knew how to use a computer. I told him to google it himself and he did. He was hesitant on apologizing to me, but I just called him a moron anyway.

Yeah, but we have a nice celebration every year over by a community bazaar nearby my house during Kwanzaa. As much as I think the holiday’s a joke, I’m glad that there’s some idiot that’s wasting time and resources to make me free corn on the cob.

Happy Kwanzaa. Does anybody have a toothpick to remove the pieces of corn from my teeth?

OMG I would never have thought such a thing could happen. Lots of urban blacks getting together. Thank God they didn’t hold it at a Wal-Mart, there could have been a stampede and more people crushed.

In 1990, Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price and his staff envisioned an expo that would help shape a better community through the seven Kwanzaa principles: Unity (Umoja), Self-determination (Kujichagulia), Collective Work and Responsibility (Ujima), Cooperative Economics (Ujamaa), Purpose (Nia), Creativity (Kuumba) and Faith (Imani). “We wanted to raise the consciousness about understanding the meaning of life,” explains Mr. Price. “If we focus on enhancing the emancipation, education and enterprise of African American people through unity and collective work, we can significantly improve the quality of life for area residents.”
