Critics File Suit Claiming He’s Constitutionally Ineligible to Be President

As President-elect Barack Obama, his family, staff and supporters prepare for his January move into the White House, a growing number of critics are voicing support for a campaign which is underway and, if successful, will prevent him from taking office. Should that happen, it would also dash the risen hopes of millions of people around the world who were energized by Obama’s candidacy and believe him able to bring about “change you can believe in.”

For months now, “conservative” bloggers and commentators, along with some Democratic supporters of Senator Hillary Clinton, have attempted to focus attention on Obama’s birth, particularly the Hawaiian birth certificate posted on his fightthesmears.com website; an image meant to disprove all allegations about his birth not taking place in the United States....

A couple of new Birth Certificate stories linked on news.google. This story can be found linked from Google.

If this was a novel, it would be too cheesy a plot for anyone to believe it. Maybe, that is why so many are having a hard time getting their arms around this fraud?

It isn’t a “campaign,” it’s the law. Now I know the PE has a hard time grasping following the rules, but he should have thought of that before running for POTUS based on a lie/lack of evidence. The proof should have been demanded in-hand WAY before he was allowed to be a nominee.

Exactly. everyone knows he wasnt properly vetted, and this is the most basic of vetting info.

It is a “controversy” because he has been stonewalling.

If he were found to be ineligible, there are a few democrats facings some mighty serious charges for signing off on him.

So why not just produce your birth certificate and be done with it? Either (a) he was born outside of the US, or (b) there is something in it that contradicts the life story he has sold, or (c) he is using this as a straw-man to later discredit as kooks anyone who digs up real dirt in his secret past.

I really can't come up with any other options. So which one is it?

Do not understand how this controversy got this far. Isn’t there a vetting process by law enforcement (FBI, CIA) some government agency that would have taken care of this matter? If not, what would prevent a terrorist in sheep clothing to become President of our country. Any one can run and hide themselves under the cloak of purity, get elected and it is okay? I just do not understand this?

Howard Dean has quietly stepped down already. i think that was more than a coincidence, if a fall guy was needed.

I'm sure I read here the other day that Howard Dean has quietly stepped down as head of the DNC. Hmm.....

That’s the number one question that prevents some people from even considering this controversy. Some people believe that these government agencies would have done the “vetting” of this guy, simply because he has made it this far.

I’m not one of them but I’d sure like an answer to this.

I think they're trying to do that right now.

Remember when Clinton marched his cabinet out on the WH lawn: the two gnomes, Reich/Shalala, & Halfbright and all the others, and they all dutifully took their turns reciting before NBC/CBS/ABC/XYZ cameras:
“We believe the president ... he’s a fine father & husband, a hardworker and all around nice guy...” and Monica was just pulling out and, uh, blowing off the blue dress. HA!

I think you are right. Who would imagine someoneo would have the nerve!?

After seeing the requirements for Rhode Island to certify someone as “qualified” (a signed statement by Obama himself), I’m starting to see how this could get pulled off.

I don’t think Nancy Pelosi will dutifully do 20 years or so in prison for Zero. That skinny old bat would sing like a Valkyrie.

“Isn’t there a vetting process by...some government agency that would have taken care of this matter?”

Normally, in a free society, one can rely on the opposing party. The Republicans were sleeping on duty. But they can make up for it by searching government records and presenting a formal objection on Jan 8, ‘09 that demonstrates O is not a natural born citizen (if at all).

If O is not a natural born citizen his certification at each state primary level was fraudulent.

STAND UP AMERICA! The presidential election is not over!
We voted for electors, not the individual candidates. The electors vote on or after December 15, 2009. The results are then presented to a joint session of Congress and objections may be heard on January 8, 2009 pursuant to the 20th amendment and Public Law 110-430. See the letter on my About page hand-delivered to the local offices of my Republican Senators and Representatives. I urge you to take similar action, even if it is simply faxing a one page letter to Washington, D.C.
