I like many have come to accept the inevitability of Obama being the next President and I think it's time we move on.
I think in the next year we have to unite beyond one candidate. My two top ones are Sarah Palin and Bobby Jindal.
If we start soon by the time the primary season rolls around we will be able to get her or him at the top of the ticket.
I would be interested in other names as well. I think the others that ran in 2008 are pretty much done.
One of the reasons Reagan was nominated and won was how united his supporters were from the start. My grandparents were talking about him even in the 1976 election (and I think it was good he wasn't Ford's VP nominee and one of the reasons I worry 2008 will hurt Sarah in the long run)
Really? I don’t care what you think.
You know what I think?
It high time you Boom Chaka Laka Brother!

Boom Chaka Laka Brother!
GOP = DOA
I want to wait until the candidates begin announcing they want to run. Why start supporting someone who may not even run...big waste of time. We all were behind Fred Thompson and others and did not do any good. The guy who got it we didn’t even want. The only people who should even begin to discuss who our pick will be is the people of Iowa and New Hampshire who will pick our candidate. Now once the candidates are announced, I would not mind getting Iowa and New Hampshire behind the candidate we want.
“The democrats especially the most liberal ones started working towards 2008 the day after the 04 election and I think that is one of the reasons they won.”
I thought it was the econmy crashing, personally...look at the history...
Yeah, I’m not taking advice from McCainiacs, thank you. Your guy was out campaigning for Obama all the way along and was the wimpiest and saddest excuse for a GOP Presidential nominee I’ve ever seen. He made Bob Dole look animated.
KEYES BOOM SHAKALAKA!!!!
I will accept him as President upon presentation of a valid birth certificate which proves his Constitutional qualifications.
I will not accept his rat policies.
Amd because of people like you Obama got elected because you had to teach the GOP a lesson. I hope someone as filled with hate as you are has no children.
Sarah has her name out there now like Reagan did in 1976. I see a lot of Parralels.
Reagan made a name for himself first and came roaring back in 1980
If you don’t care what I think why post in the thread? I thought this could spark an interested discussion but that requires people being adults.
I signed the petitions and such too but I think even if it was proven he wasn’t a valid candidate he still will be President.
I just spent 20 minutes the other day waiting to get into a callin show talking about it just to state the facts of the case and simply asked “why should I have to present a birth certificate to work my job (it involves seeing very secure documents) and Obama doesn’t have to to be President?”
And also pointed out he wouldn’t pass the high level security clearance.
That’s why I wish she had gotten her name in and involved but not been the nominee just like Reagan. She does remind me a lot of him too. One of the biggest things besides her politics is the way she talks to people like real people do not politicians.
They were a lot more mobilized than we were and we were so splintered that’s why we didn’t get a more conservative candidate.
And I’d rather be a mccain voter than someone who helped Obama get elected. I love my country too much to help Obama get elected. I worked on someone else’s campaign in the primary but being in Illinois I know how dangerous Obama really is. I’ve been talking about him since before he was even a Senator.
Thank you for sharing your opinion.

After the court cases regarding Obama’s birth certificate are concluded; I’m sure Freepers will most lik move on to other issues.
Btw, you may want to change your moniker.
I sincerely believe that at this point in time, McCain could be nominated for
dog catcher — and he wouldn’t win.
If Obama becomes president, I will accept him and treat him with as much respect as the liberal press and public has treated President Bush.
There, that ought to satisfy you.
sp=likely
compare to Zero who still says things like its a campaign will Boldly and Aggressively work on the economy. Everything to him is a sound byte. If She counters with great communicator-like skills that may be the kryptonite we need.
I said I have accepted he will be President not that I will accept him as President.
Whenever I give up on something happening it happens so maybe something still will happen. On a much less important note Kerry Wood appeared to be gone from the Cubs and I had finally accepted it and rumor now has him signing by Monday.
Take a look at what's been going on since Reagan left office. No matter who was in the White House and no matter who controlled Congress, the country grew more liberal. Even during the better years of the past two decades, all we did was marginally slow the growth of liberalism. That's not good enough. If we're to retake our country, we must start from the ground up with conservatives and absolutely stop settling for the lesser of a bunch of evils.
