The second paragraph explains it all, but I think it looks much more humorous like this...

Cheers!

Domino's has struggled lately with high commodity costs. High costs for cheese and wheat, which is used to make the company's crust, have cut into profit. The company estimated it paid 64 percent more for cheese during its third quarter.

This crap brought to you by growing world demand and the ethanol scam...

The 2nd paragraph said they would close 60 stores; how do you explain the five stores that already had no employees?

55 Jobs?

That's like 0.9090909090909090909 employee's per State!

The economy is going to go into the toilet over this.

Their pizza tastes like cardboard anyway. Give me Papa John’s any day (and that garlic sauce!)

Damn, 1.1 jobs per state.

I should stay away from KCalc while consuming adult beverages.

Definitely local Mom & Pop stores! I like Greek Pizza shops.
My personal favorite is Gianni's Pizza in Nashua, NH.
I'll give Papa John's a try though. Pizza Hut & Papa Gino's just plain Suck. Bertucci's used to be great but they went down hill.

I used to work at Pizza Hut, back in the day when it was really good. Way back when, I remember when Pan Pizza and Taco Pizza was originally introduced: It must have been sometime around 1976, give or take a year or two. Back then we made the sauce fresh - well as fresh as you can make it when you use canned tomato sauce and a spice packet, but we did make the dough fresh every day. Back then, the pizza was really good, and I ate there a lot, even on my days off.

I bet they were great back then but I'd wager that most of the ingredients now are canned or frozen from some large warehouse.
"Chefs" at most chains days are usually more like Microwave Jockeys.
Even some of the local places are just as bad.
I work in a restaurant supply store, I know where not to eat breakfast because they buy those huge cans of hash.
I prefer a diner that makes real corned beef or red flannel hash.
It almost seems like a waste of money to go out to eat when you can make the same thing, only better at home.

Gianni's is really good, but I love Ciao's which is up by the technical college on Amherst St.

Chain shops suck. Bertucci's used to be good - I got a pizza there the other night and it was horrible. I sent them an e-mail and now they're sending me a gift card...fo another crappy pie, I guess.

Domino’s Pizza has the best thing on their web site. It is a meter showing you the stages of delivery of your pizza.

Greek pizza is the BEST! I'm not sure why. Maybe the olive oil.

"I used to work at Pizza Hut back in the day when it was really good."

I agree with your implied sentiment. Pizza Hut's thin-crust pizzas were always my favorite. Then they changed the sauce flavor a number of years ago, it's much harsher.....and their crust today has all the flavor and texture of a communion wafer.

I don't know ANYONE who likes Domino's pizza, including me.

I guess I'll have to go back to making my own pizza again....sigh.

LOL! "Sorry our pizza sucks, here's a coupon for a free one". Reminds me of when a waitress said to me: "Sorry we burnt the french fries, so we gave you extra." great, just what I needed extra burnt fries.
I've never been to Ciao's but if you recommend it I'll give it a whirl. Thanks.

Also the crust is a thicker and more cheese.
2 slices and I'm all done.

Rosatti's Pizza in Scottsdale / Fountain Hills *rocks*.

A bit inconvenient, now, since I live in Minneapolis, MN.

However, both Green Mill and Broadway Pizza are acceptable substitutes. :-)

Full Disclosure: I do miss the old Eduardo's, though.

Cheers!

I imagine the job cuts are executives. I think it would be funny if they were assigned to making pizza.
