I have no problem with anyone having tattoos. I have two myself. My opinion is that if you are in a professional job, then keep them covered.

The response by the school's Dean of Students was: See, there's the problem. You don't take the issue to the Dean of Students, you take it to the School Board. Make it public and make it be known. If you don't like the school board's actions take it to the ballot box.

Our rule with our kids was nothing pierced, nothing tattooed and no hair colors that God doesn’t make hair. Violation of the rule would result in finances being cut off.
It delayed them long enough to get them out of college and into the world where they could FINALLY see that it might not be the smartest decision.

I don't care what they have as long as it's covered up or otherwise concealed. And yes, they should have Dress Codes for teachers and staff at schools.
The corporate world already institutes dress codes for employees.

The ones that like to have sex with little boys should have the tramp stamp (most probably already do) so we can tell who they are.

They are becoming very popular with the woman. I see them everywhere walking the malls, parks, work, etc. I don’t think that the teacher should be wearing bare back stuff for school, but if they desire to wear it showing outside the classroom, I don’t have a problem with that.

Might as well get used to this. Maybe not having them exposed, but definitely teachers with tramp stamps. That has to be the most popular place for women to get tattoos.
I really don’t see the problem with the teacher being 22 though. I would rather have a young teacher than an old one. Most old teachers I had were burnt out, at least a young one would still be into what they are doing.

Is the teacher teaching math well? Do her students understand the concepts of algebra or trig or geometry? Teaching math is the teacher's job.
If her tattoo is detraction from her ability to teach math then there is cause to complain. Are the students -- not the parents but the students -- paying attention to her tattoo instead of the mathematical concepts they are supposed to be learning? If the writer of the article's daughter is learning math from this woman, then he has no cause to complain that she is not doing her job.
Is there a school dress code that is violated by showing a lower back tattoo? If so does she show it normally in class? Was she just showing it to the kids during parent/teacher/firstday schedule to show that she is cool and/or has more in common with the student than they may think?
Bottom line is that this woman is hired to teach math, and if the students are learning math she is doing her job - no matter what she has on her body. If, on the other hand, the students are NOT learning math, no matter how much she has in common with her students in the way of body art, she needs to be either fired or demoted and retrained.

I hate those things, and it’s really a shame that a very nice and quite attractive young teacher in my school has one of those. Granted, after one year in my school, she doesn’t look quite as young. But she’s no tramp. Still, when I see that thing stickin’ out, I hear the words of an acquaintance (wouldn’t exactly call him friend) who swore that women who have those like doing it doggy style and they’re giving you something to look at.
