Finding recent pictures of Mayon's current eruption isn't easy. Here are two:
This picture of lava on the mountain was taken July 31.
This picture of a pyroclastic flow on Mayon's slopes was taken August 12.
Mayon is a beautiful mountain when it isn't being nasty, and it's amazingly symmetrical. Two views:
TOPICS: Arts/Photography; Education; Miscellaneous; Outdoors; Science; Travel
KEYWORDS: eruption; mayon; phillipines; volcano
Current conditions at Mayon are a slowdown of activity, but that doesn't mean it won't have a bigger eruption in the future.
