Question: I read "Undaunted Courage" (story of the Lewis and Clark expedition) -- I can't remember if L&C commented on seeing any of the Cascade Range volcanoes. Mt. Hood would have been prominent as they went down (and back up) the Columbia River.
In a recent Geology Picture of the Week posting, I posted a great "on the ground" picture of the Badlands. It's cool to see the view from above now.
