Norway's best-kept secret (hunting, fishing)
various Norwegian web-sites | May 3, 2005 | self

Okay, so I am probably not doing the fine folks of Moraker, Norway, in revealing one of the best-kept secrets of Norway; a paradise, apparently, for hunters and fishermen and skiiers.

Meraker is a "commune"--one assumes that is similar with our "township" or "county" here in the United States--of 2,500 people, or about 3 people per square mile.

If Norway joins the European Union, which forbides the Finns to defend themselves against wolves, probably these women will have to learn marksmanship somewhere else.

Apparently even faraway remote Meraker is not safe from the Birkenstock and Ben & Jerry's ice-cream crowd.

Okay, this is my second attempt at satsifying a popular demand for photographs of Norway, our gallant allies in the War against Terror.

Unlike the last one, where some of the photographs were misidentified, I believe all of these are genuinely authetically really representative of Meraker, a Norwegian village nestled in the mountains near the contentious Norwegian-Swedish border.

Ping for the Norway ping list.

I had the day off from work, and trust me, I checked all the news sources exhaustively, trying to find news from Norway.

But alas Norway was quiet today, and so this humble (but one hopes more accurate) offering.

Good luck on the law examinations; you'll do better than you think.

By the way, I just discovered the charming Hemnes, a village in Norway; I hope my "publicizing" these out-of-the-way places doesn't encourage a whole lot of tourism, which wrecks them.

Mornin'. Beautiful photos. Thanx.

We've got sunshine on our part of the CA Central Coast this mornin'. Love it.

It the months ahead, the hot weather of the San Joaquin Valley, to the east, will draw low clouds in from the Pacific.

I'm solar powered. GOT to have sunshine to keep me going. So, I've got to get out and enjoy this while I can.

Bright and sunny here in Nebraska, too.

I already have a sun-tan.....as usual.
