An Australian man's unconventional attempt to scare magpies away from his backyard using a homemade scarecrow has resulted in an unexpected turn of events. Magpies are a real threat to people in Australia. They aggressively defend their territory, which might be your sidewalk or back yard, by swooping down to peck at your face and eyes. They are much worse than drop bears.

If this were an episode of Twilight Zone, he would begin to order the magpies to destroy his competitors crops, then to kill his enemies, and they would eventually turn on him to kill him or maybe peck out his eyes.
