Comey Calls Trump "Existential Threat" [semi-satire]
Semi-News/Semi-Satire ^ | 11 June 2023 | John Semmens

Posted on 06/14/2023 10:29:34 AM PDT by John Semmens

Former FBI Director James Comey called polls showing former President Trump beating current President Biden in a 2024 election rematch "extremely troubling. As everyone knows, I have dedicated the last eight years of my life to thwarting the evil schemes of this man. I launched the 'Crossfire Hurricane' effort to try to prevent his election in 2016. When that failed, I worked to undermine his agenda in anyway I could. Even after I was fired, friends inside the DOJ leaked confidential information that I passed on to the media."

"It was the happiest day of my life when Trump lost to Biden in 2020," Comey remembered. "I thought the covert operation to fake an insurrection on January 6, 2021 would have so damaged Trump's reputation that he would be done with politics. But he has comeback stronger than ever. Impeachments, indictments, and an almost uniformly hostile media don't seem to affect how voters feel about him. He's like the Frankenstein monster from the movies. He keeps coming back time-after-time."

"There's no telling how much damage he will do to the government if he wins in 2024," Comey warned. "He is a clear and present danger to our democracy. No option for averting such a disaster should be considered too extreme. I hope someone of courage will rescue us from this would-be dictator."

For 5+ years all we heard from the media and the deep state what a horrible person and what a threat Trump would be, but all he did was protect our borders, negotiate fairer trade deals, keep us out of new wars, and he kept inflation and unemployment down.

Where was the threat????

All they did was manufacture fake crimes, conducted counter intelligence operations against him and us, and royaled congress with multiple impeachment campaigns.

Who is the threat again?

Who are the dividers?

Thanks, John, another fine column.

How can it be satire if I learn so much?

So comey's issue is with the American People. Sounds more like comey is extremely troubling, being an enemy of democracy and all. So many questions...

Trump is not a child molester, he is not corrupt, he is not part of what Newt Gingrich called the cabal nor does he have a seedy past like our current political establishment so he is a big threat to their corruptness.. He is a threat to the deep state.

When I read the term “ Existential threat” I can guess the person is not only lying but also not as smart as they think they are.

This man just vowed to engage in election interference. Is there a criminal charge in there somewhere?

“This man just vowed to engage in election interference.”

You missed the big one. In the article he stated:

“...confidential information that I passed on to the media...”

That is treason, no question about it. Where is the DOJ arresting him and grilling him for his contacts in the DOJ that also passed sensitive information he admitted was confidential to him to be leaked to the media.

Government confidential information is classified national security information created or received by an agency of the federal government or a government contractor that would damage national security if improperly released.

Intentionally disclosing classified information is a federal crime under the espionage act. Punishment may be up to ten years in prison, a large fine, or could even get you charged with treason.

Where’s the heat?

Whether to prosecute would be AG Garland’s prerogative. I think he will decline because Comey is fighting the chief enemy of our “democracy.”

“Whether to prosecute would be AG Garland’s prerogative.”

I don’t feel it is. By the way the information was passed I would think it would require at a minimum an investigation that would carry far more weight than Trump’s investigation. They are trying to prove Trump violated OPSEC and/or COMSEC restrictions and business laws established in New York. I would think national security should be the top item on the list but if that’s the case, why are they tying it into a civil crime of business fraud and using state level players? If the documents at Trump’s home are sensitive, nobody in the court room could view what they were at all as they do not have the clearance to do so.

And remember, Trump didn’t have sensitive documents out in the open next to his car in the garage like Biden did and I’m not hearing anything being done on that one. And the discoverers of Biden’s documents were lawyers that have no security clearance to see them nor the need to know. Those documents weren’t supposed to be there at all, let alone for public viewing. The documents found in Trump’s home in Florida were discovered by federal agents under the guise of an FBI search warrant. Huge difference as to the control of each situation.

And so often better (with a vivid and believable mind picture) than mere statements to the contrary of the lies and crimes.

You’re forgetting that the new legal standard established by the Biden Administration is to only prosecute people they don’t like.

Democrats can stuff classified documents in their pants (Sandy Berger) or delete subpoenaed documents & destroy devices (Hillary Clinton) without fear of prosecution because those with the power to decide whether to prosecute like these people.

“...without fear of prosecution because those with the power to decide whether to prosecute like these people.”

You are absolutely correct. But are there no people sent to D.C. to determine the simplicity of justice called congressmen/women that can say something about it?

And that’s the fault of the voters when they vote for the people that don’t properly represent them even to the point of trying to destroy those that do say something. (See Trump and the term “the swamp”)

I’ve heard it said that there are three types of people in the world. Those that make things happen, those that watch things happen, and those that sit around and ask “what happened?” Self centered crooked politicians are number one, Congress is number two, and the voters are number three. Seems at some point we would want to move up on the scale. And Trump was the broken mold that may have been that change. I guess we’re not quite ready to fall completely apart, but we’re working on it. And every night someone locks the gate of our corral.
