Democrat Ex-Congressman Sentenced to 30 Months in Prison for Election Fraud. ( Pennsylvania )

A Democrat former congressman has been sentenced to 30 months in prison for election fraud charges.

The judge threw the book at a corrupt former Rep. Michael “Ozzie” Myers (D-PA), jailing the 79-year-old Philadelphia politician for multiple voter fraud felonies.

Myers was sentenced to 30 months in prison, with three years of supervised release, and ordered to pay $100,000 in fines.

$10,000 of the fine was due immediately.

United States District Court Judge Paul S. Diamond threw the book at Myers after the disgraced Democrat plead guilty to conspiracy to deprive voters of civil rights, bribery, obstruction of justice, falsification of voting records, and conspiring to illegally vote in a federal election.

As Slay News previously reported, Myers admitted to orchestrating schemes to fraudulently stuff the ballot boxes for specific Democratic candidates in the 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 Pennsylvania elections.

“Voting is the cornerstone of our democracy,” said U.S. Attorney Romero.

“If even one vote has been illegally cast or if the integrity of just one election official is compromised, it diminishes faith in process.

“This defendant used his position, knowledge of the process, and connections to fix elections for his preferred candidates, which demonstrates a truly flagrant disregard for the laws which govern our elections.

...

“He will now spend 30 months in prison as penalty for his crimes.”

“Protecting the legitimacy of elections is critical to ensuring the public’s trust in the process,” said Jacqueline Maguire, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI’s Philadelphia Division.

“Through his actions, Ozzie Myers pointedly disdained both the will of Philadelphia voters and the rule of law. He’s now a federal felon twice over, heading back behind bars, with time to consider the great consequence of free and fair elections.”

...

DOJ issued a statement that said:

“In June 2022, the defendant admitted in court to bribing the Judge of Elections for the 39th Ward, 36th Division in South Philadelphia in a fraudulent scheme over several years.

“Myers admitted to bribing the election official to illegally add votes for certain candidates of their mutual political party in primary elections.

“Some of these candidates were individuals running for judicial office whose campaigns had hired Myers, and others were candidates for various federal, state, and local elective offices that Myers favored for a variety of reasons.

“Myers would solicit payments from his clients in the form of cash or checks as “consulting fees,” and then use portions of these funds to pay election officials to tamper with election results.

“Myers also admitted to conspiring to commit election fraud with another former Judge of Elections for the 39th Ward, 2nd Division in South Philadelphia.

“Myers’ accomplice was the de facto Judge of Elections and effectively ran the polling places in her division by installing close associates to serve as members of the Board of Elections.

“Myers admitted that he gave his accomplice directions to add votes to candidates supported by him, including candidates for judicial office whose campaigns actually hired Myers, and other candidates for various federal, state, and local elective offices preferred by Myers for a variety of reasons.

“This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with assistance from the Pennsylvania State Police,” DOJ said.

“It is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Richard P. Barrett, Chief of the Criminal Division, and Eric L. Gibson with assistance from Richard C. Pilger, the former Director of Elections Crimes Branch (retired), Criminal Division, Public Integrity Section, U.S. Department of Justice.”

They should have squeezed him to reveal the big shots and techniques used in the 2020 election steal.

Not enough time, but I love to see politicians suffer.

How and why was such a ‘connected’ guy ever prosecuted is puzzling. He must have done something to alienate more powerful Philly pols or he was old and could really not do anything for those who ‘really count’. In the latter case Ozzie baby was foolish and should have just become a ‘senior adviser’ for photo op purposes. The operation described is a letter perfect description of ‘voter operations’ well known throughout America for over a century and a half. Mark Hanna was considered the absolute master of this form of ‘vote getting’ in Ohio in the late 1890’s. This was because he came late to politics and ran his operation as he ran his businesses. Every dollar was tracked and accounted for, he personally led ‘get out the vote’ teams to almost every county seat in the state and God help anyone stupid enough to take his money and just pocket it. Those types ended up mopping bar room floors if they were lucky. Interesting to see this fine old American political tradition alive and functioning in the 21st century.

Reminder:
This guy got 30 months for election fraud.

The guy in the funny hat on J6 got 42 months for trespassing (plus time served being held without bail).

The woman in Portland 2020 who threw the Molotov Cocktail into the police SUV with 5 officers inside got 33 HOURS of community service.

Ask a Democrat about the double standard and they’ll say, “What double standard?”.

Our lethargy/apathy gives them permission to push boundaries their hippy parents/grand parents wouldn't have dared cross.

...in other words...(with the help of media/legal system)...they have no boundaries.

...while at the same time they successfully build a corral...for us.

History has shown, can't have slaves/slavery (or outright extinction) without it.

(lethargy/apathy)

From another source on the same story:

“Prosecutors said Myers, 79, admitted he bribed a judge of elections to add votes for his chosen candidates, including clients who were running for judicial offices. The bribes were hundreds or thousands of dollars.”

Really? Hundreds or thousands for fake voting? I would have hoped it would cost more than that. I guess the market is over-saturated in Philly.

Also interesting, I can find NO similar story about the election judge being charged.... hmmmmmnnn?
