(Vanity) Help - any Verizon Wireless outage problems and contacts?
Me | 8/5/22 | Me

Is anyone else having outages, due to bad weather, on Verizon Wireless?

I wonder if anyone knows a good way to contact these idiots. Idont fully trust their robocall that tells us 18 hours later the area is still having Verizon outage.

I’d like to get real people to talk to.

This is very complex. If you have anything beyond “800-VERIZON” or that sign-in stuff on line (which wouldn’t work if their WiFi is out anyway), I’d love to know.

My mothers house had a close lightning strike yesterday here in Maryland, and the house power did not go out, but the Verizon did.

I have a bad back this week, my mother is handicapped with a Walker recently from a broken hip, and my brother in CA has her account info which makes it more complex. Just trust me, it’s all chaotic and nothing is convenient except I’m just 10 min from her.

I don’t know why I can’t just call them from any given number and ask the status. If it’s NOT the system, then I’d have to call about servicing her WiFi net, which may have been fried just like her AC was.

Any ideas?

Have you had trouble last night with Verizon, Too?

Smarttalk (Walmart) changed over to Verizon a few months ago and the service is markedly worse.

Hugh’s Net was down in most of the country.

Just came back up a few minutes ago.

If anyone uses the internet for phone calls, that was effected.

Verizon was having issues too. Northern Michigan.

I thought it was China’s revenge that Hugh’s Net and Verizon were hacked.

All is back to normal now.

Solar flares??

Not here. Mom got lightning strike in backyard and things went out, including Verizon.

They are in the process of shutting down 3G and prior on their network. By end of year if you haven’t upgraded your phone to 4 or 5G then you won’t be able to use it anymore.

My wife has an old 3G phone and is already experiencing issues, we’ve just been putting off getting the new one as things come up.

I’m in Maryland too. Lots of thunderstorms last night.

Try going here and sign in with your Verizon credentials. It’ll create a ticket in their system.

I live in Central New York State. I use my internet connection at home, but haven’t been outside today to see if there’s a problem with the LTE system. The Verizon network booster device I have is connected, and Verizon’s website is up and working.

"My wife has an old 3G phone and is already experiencing issues, we’ve just been putting off getting the new one as things come up."

Several years ago I had to get rid of my 3G phone because someone's network booster was showing up on my screen as an icon. It was interfering with making calls, and I couldn't manually update my roaming capabilities on it. The only way I could get rid of the icon, was to drive a few blocks down the street, and it would disappear. It was only then that I could dial-in to update my roaming. I ended up getting a cheap iPhone which got rid of the network booster problem, but I went from 4 bars to 1 1/2 bars at home with the iPhone. I bitched to Verizon about it, and they sent me a $250 network booster for my home, for free. I've gotten 4 bars at home since then, but often wonder if my booster is now messing with someone else's network.

Not the issue. Massive storms on east coast yesterday. Struck my mom’s back yard.

I don’t know if Verizon is down, or mom’s box is fried.

I was paying Verizon $84.00 a month for two phones.
I had an Iphone 5c, going out with 3G.
I bought a new in box Iphone 6s on ebay for $140.00 and switched to Redpocket for $84.00 a YEAR. (1000 minutes a month, unlimited texts, 1 GB of high speed, which I never use all of)
Son wanted unlimited, so he got the $180.00 a year plan.

Thanks but I saw this earlier. As always it implies we are right there to work with it, and anyone there is capable.

They are trying to DIY everything.

I just want a damn number to talk to real people who will come out and check it and repair or replace system if needed.

different smart talk phones are on different networks...

they’ve always used verizon, at&t, and sprint networks depending on the phone manufacturers...

i’ve been using the verizon smart talk phones for over 7 years with no problems...

I don’t get it - how do you tell it your own locale?

I see NOTHING about typing in your location or zip, etc.

Do you seriously believe that any live person you get through to is going to know A) Where you are; B) Have any idea what is causing your outage or when it will be fixed; or C) Talk to you in less than an hour on hold.

Your calling will do nothing to speed the process or alleviate your stress.

And finally, shame on you for not having a landline for your disabled mother. You will get a 911 response several minutes faster with a landline.
