I know Nancy Pelosi's white roots have already grown out since her infamous visit to that hair salon. But thanks to Donald Trump bringing it up at every awesome rally, it's not stale news yet!
The whole incident would've blown over in a jiffy if she'd had the humility and Erma Bombeckesque sense of humor to say, "Sorry, my bad. I just wanted to look my best for my voters."
But no! Nancy herself blew the incident into A Thing by projection, by attempting to gaslight the American voter by blaming the hair salon for setting her up. Basically a grown-up version of, "I know you are but what am I?" Typical narcissism. The faux apology that circles around to blame the victim.
For a Writer of Narcissism like me, there is an embarrassment of riches in this story. It's almost too easy. But Google "Nancy Pelosi Narcissism" and Google's predictive search function suddenly stops working and 99% of the results on Page 1 are about Donald Trump's supposed malignant narcissism.
Just this one tiny incident ticks almost every one of the checkboxes for an armchair diagnosis of Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
Double Standard: Nancy gets to have her appearance tended to, including an "illegal" blowout, while you and I struggle along with at-home, Covid-cut haircuts.
Failure to Take Responsibility and Playing the Victim: It's salon owner, Erica Kious', fault for allowing a lawmaker to "break the law." Ummmm.....
Flying Monkeys: All Nancy's sycophants and flying monkeys swooped in and drove Ms. Kious to shutter her salon. I hope she soon re-opens.
Lack of Empathy: Has Pelosi expressed one morsel of regret for Ms. Kious' loss of her business? And who's been touching up Nancy's white roots since then? Hmmmmmm.
I could go on and on but the target's too easy. There's no fun in it. I've got better ways to spend my time.The narcissism of Nancy Pelosi is glaring in this one tiny "insignificant" incident but then, it always has been. The chicanery Pelosi and The Left are actually doing, they've been projecting onto Trump and The Right since 2016. Big League. 100%. It never stops.
It's also really obvious to survivors of narcissistic abuse. To quote Singin' in the Rain, "Whaddya think we are, dumb or something!?!". I'm baffled how any narc abuse survivor could vote Democrat. It blows my mind.
So here's my challenge to all Mental Health writers. You call yourself a professional, right? Isn't objective and lack-of-bias somewhere in that definition? You've beaten the "Trump is a Malignant Narcissist" thing to death. Turn about is fair play. How's about we start writing about the in-your-face narcissism of The Left???
Or does your precious career and love of money come before your Love of Country?
