WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE TOILET PAPER THING!!!!!???

Posted on 03/13/2020 4:47:20 AM PDT by BuckeyeGOP

What the hell? No store here in Columbus has toilet paper. I'm not looking to hoard the stuff, I just need to be able to wipe my a**. Why toilet paper???? People must have the stuff packed to the rafters in their basements and garages.

Best I can figure the news about no toilet paper during the Venezuela economic meltdown must have scarred our psyche pretty bad.

It's to the point where it might be prudent for the secretary of commerce to hold a news conference and re-assure folks that there is no toilet paper shortage.

It’s psychological thing. Lol.

that "psychological thing" has Amazon.com completely sold out of toilet paper until sometime around April 20th as of yesterday.

“”Please explain how someone wiping their butt can stop the spread of the flu.””

If you’re not joking then there’s only one other explanation.. Apparently you’ve never lived where you’ve had to hunker down in bad weather - without power, for instance and make do with what you have on hand...unable to get out to stores...We’ve had ice storms where we couldn’t get out of our own driveways and the people I know shop at least once a week. THAT’S when it’s prudent to have something to fall back on.

I don’t think anyone said that stockpiling water or toilet paper will stop the flu but it pays to be prepared....it’s just common sense. But I think there’s a shortage of that right here.

“”jump in the shower””

Why on earth do the posters reflect what is only pertinent to their lives? Disabled seniors do NOT JUMP IN THE SHOWER..Use your head...

No one is telling any of these naysayers they have to be prepared but you’re all bound and determined to tell the rest of us we’re crazy for preparing...

I still have most of my Y2K supply. I hope it doesn’t get crumbly.

Same here in Youngstown. Nothing anywhere. Can’t even buy online. Thankfully I always keep a little extra but I gotta say I am a little concerned with a family of three.

Nope, not joking.
Please explain how someone wiping their butt can stop the spread of the flu.

I’d also like to know how stockpiling bottled water stops the flu.

Easy. You don’t leave your house for two weeks to infect others or become infected. I have TP and will be able to wipe my ass. You’ll be spreading disease or making a mess when you run out.

It’s the new currency. Like how cigarettes used to be currency in Germany after the war.

“Me, I have a Costco-size case in my garage, so I’m all set. He”

Until a single mouse gets in it and makes a nest of the whole case.

Pro tip on mice problems...

Mice can’t stand the smell of ‘dryer sheets’ and will leave anyplace they are. A few dryer sheets will keep mice out of your stored for winter lawn mower, boat, tractor, tents, anything you don’t want mice to ruin.

“People are stupid, gullible, sheeple.”

Revised: Americans are stupid, gullible, and WEAK. We’re Americans for Pete’s sake! Look what we’ve done since the 1600s, and then see how everyone is wimping out now. It’s embarrassing, really.

The amount of TP that some people have been buying far exceeds a 2 week supply.

I probably have 2-3 months on hand myself, But that isn’t that unusual for me.

I have been stocking up on non perishables, but still plan to make grocery store runs once a week. If that becomes unfeasible in the future, then I will start using my longer term supplies.

Apparently you’ve never lived where you’ve had to hunker down in bad weather - without power,

I'm in North Carolina. Hurricanes, ice storms and tornadoes are always on the menu. Even a blizzard every now and then.

But the difference is ... those are real things!

This is media-driven hysteria over a weaker than average flu bug. A cold.

It's not three feet of snow trapping people in their houses. It's fear and cable news.

I'm not participating.

People stockpile toilet paper when there is any kind of natural disaster anticipated. Not knowing what to expect with the new virus, they fall back on old behaviors. If you could be shut in for a few weeks - or afraid to go to the store for weeks - it’s not wholly irrational behavior, though people do take it too far.

All of this amounts to retaliation over our wins in the trade war with our political and world-wide enemy, the nation of communist China.

They are in a life-death trade war with us. We will not win until chicom system is wiped out. Their Worldwide tentacles will require hacking them to pieces. This is what it looks like. It is time for us to retaliate.

I saw folks at BJs and Sam’s yesterday wearing masks.

Made a point to cough loudly in their direction.

It takes at least two incubation periods of social distancing to break a virus chain of transmission. This bug has an average of 14 days and outliers till nearly 40. 24 days is a better number for adding a safety margin. That’s 48 days of mandatory lockdown via local LEO and the national guard.POTUS has already said that forced limits on internal travel is om the table, the man never says anything unless he means it so that outcome is real.

Now ask yourself do you have enough food, and yes toilet paper to last at least 48 days of being forced to.stay in your residences? If not then now you know why intelligent people are stocking up for just this reason.

As a point China has been on lockdown nearly 6 weeks and the virus is barely contained if you even believe their numbers. Italy is 3 weeks into mandatory lockdown and they still have exponential growth they just locked down the whole country it will be at least 6 weeks if China’s model works longer if they have quarantine breakers. The time to think this will be over by a weekend or two weeks has passed to continue to think that way is clinical denial. Our government on both sides have said this is a multi month if not multi year problem.

The Best case is two or three months of disruption to everyone and everything thats the message that Cuomo gave his people in N.Y. he is right and I normal can’t stand the man. This is not.going away due to “summer” or fades out on it’s own while new hosts are available for infection. All this virus knows how to do is infect a hostx replica and look for a new host that’s it. As long as new hosts are with it’s critical threshold of infection distance it will infect and replicate. Lock downs are coming soon our exponential growth curve shows a doubling rate of under 4 days and the CDC is barely testing still the rate is faster.

You don’t leave your house for two weeks to infect others or become infected.

So you're going to imprison yourself for two weeks? Over this?

Okay.
