There is also a muzzle flash to the perp’s front indicating a second shot, likely from a snub nosed .357 mag or greater revolver. They have big powder flashes than can leave you seeing spots for half an hour.I’d say the perp took Wilson’s .45 cal bullet to the head with a second round taking him somewhere in his body, likely center mass. The perp. died before he hit the floor IMHO.

Arrested while photographing an oil depot, while illegally armed with a shotgun. Like the Boston bombers, the FBI isn't interested.

Regular range time shooting in all conditions over a long time makes a difference. I had a Colt Python .357 magnum 4 inch bbl; i could hit a 12 inch round steel target all six rounds at 1 hundred yards, single action, but that was when I was practicing every week when i was young, with no one shooting back. Wilson had a pin point focus of mind.Or he couldn't have made that shot.I don't think it was luck.

I had the same thought. Not to take anything away from the guy (who apparently is a firearm instructor) but I would assume he’d be shooting for center mass also especially if he has training. He may have just hit a foot high...though that surely got the job done.
