What the Coming Uncivil War Is Really About

There is talk of a new American civil war. Indeed, the vitriol of opposing parties is reaching levels heretofore unseen. It is especially vicious now over the retirement of Justice Anthony Kennedy. There is nothing civil about this coming war. For now, it is still a culture battle, but it might be better labeled as an uncivil war.

This new uncivil war is different from America’s last fratricidal conflict. At least back then there were social units involved that united against other social units. Everything was defined leaving no room for doubt one way or the other. It was territorial. Whole states fought against other states. Families and communities united to back one party or the other.

A Distorted Vision of Liberty

In today’s uncivil war none of these factors exist. There are no social units or territorial claims. There are instead collections of individuals scattered all about. Perhaps more disconcerting is the fact that the two sides are fragmented and inseparably intermingled.

Civil wars are generally fought as a way to define the future course of events. What defines this uncivil war is a lack of definition or even a desire to define. It thrives on a great dissatisfaction at nothing specific, but rather everything in general.

However, at the center of this uncivil war is a distorted vision of liberty that was ironically articulated by the departing Justice Anthony Kennedy.

In his now infamous “mystery of life” passage of the 1992 Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania v. Casey decision, he declared that “At the heart of liberty is the right to define one’s own concept of existence, of meaning, of the universe, and of the mystery of human life.”

I really don't see it happening soon. In CWI, it was basically a block of States vs a block of States. Just how is this CWII supposed to work?

The supply lines to the Archipelago will be cut off asap. Not to mention that the Archipelagans may be long on bodies, but short on ordnance.

The left is making it unavoidable, we can submit or fight, same as Islam.

California is already largely in open revolt (sanctuary cities), allowing illegals to hold public office, entering into illegal treaties with Red China.

The question will be how difficult will it be for the New United States to subjugate California and will the Red Chinese intervene militarily on the side of California?

On flip side, a few incendiary bombs would probably burn the whole state down.

In my estimation, the differences between the last civil war and the coming civil war is this:

In the first civil war the two sides had a difference of opinion on two issues, States Rights and Slavery. However, their foundation, a belief in a Christian God and His rule over their lives.

In the coming civil war the two sides no longer share that foundation.

The chasm that exists between the two sides can only be fixed by either the miracle of true Holy Spirit driven Christian revival, or, a bloody civil war or both.

We are in much, much worse scenario now then we were before the last civil war.

1) it won’t happen. The Socialist will take over and enslav us withoutt a shot fired, because of #2
2) the right has no desire to fight off these assholes. We may have to he guns, but the only Sparticus we have is Trump, and outside of rallies, I see very few people organizing to support them. The left on the other hand has terrorist organizations that can show up a moments notice. We don’t. That’s why they will win. We will allow it to happen because the only fighting we do is on a keyboard. These Commies don’t care about rules of civility and laws. We just talk a big game.
