Today is Hazardous Waste Day in my little town. So Ive rounded up 30 years worth of DIY leftover paint, stain, strippers and sealers that Ive been saving for do-overs. As weve reached the point where even Raj has conceded that we are never going to repaint the entire house ourselves again, were hauling all this Schiff off to the toxic waste dump as we should have years ago.
If only it was that simple.
Please handle all hazardous waste with extreme caution as you never know how, or when, it will pop up again to pollute the environment.

That paint is cleaned, mixed (choice of 4-5 colors if I remember) and recycled in a lot of states. Usually sold by the state in 5 gallon buckets for bargain prices.
Dispose left over toxic waste safely for America.
We have one of those waste collection days once a year. You want to be in line an hour before start time or you may be stuck at the back of a 1/2 mile long line of vechicles.
We have a place to take such waste, but it’s usually very crowded on the weekends. I just dump my paint and stuff in my regular garbage for pickup.
My experience is different, for what it’s worth. Haz collection around here was magnificently organized, the whole parking lot was against spills, there were probably 40 people there helping to unload crap from people’s cars. You open the trunk three people get on it, pull the stuff out of your trunk and you’re gone in literally seconds. I am sure it relates to the general population of the area.
