Yeah, but if you were a white guy alone among a group of feral yutes, it would be stupid to wear a Confederate Flag shirt (or MAGA hat); just like it's stupid for young women to go jogging at night with earbuds in their ears. Nothing that happens to someone who chooses to do so is justified; but the outcome is very predictable.

A better question is what kind of (non-black) parent would let their kid attend a majority black inner city school.
Yeah, Baltimore. I only live a couple of miles from that school and am very familiar with the turf since one of my favorite public golf courses is a couple of miles down the road and my real estate practice has taken me to the ‘hood since the late ‘70’s. You have a suburb just east of Baltimore City. In the past few decades, inner city blacks have migrated to the apartments and rental row houses and become the majority in the areas closest to the city. Most of them are single (baby momma) families on welfare. The whites are maybe a bit better off. When you head away to the east and south towards the Chesapeake Bay waterfront neighborhoods, there were (and still are) more Trump signs per square mile than any other area in the metro area. The kid was stupid. The result was predictable.
1. Multiple people have written that wearing the shirt was stupid, and I agree.
2. Attacking him was assault and battery, and every thug involved should be charged with felony battery - as adults. Lock violent thugs up, whether or not their victim was being stupid.
As a child of the South I think Baltimore is probably not the place to wear the confederate flag unless you got back up.
