A false accusation of rape can cost an innocent person their education, their job, and their reputation. It can force them to spend years in prison. It can ruin their life.
In addition, every false accusation of rape potentially gives ammunition to people who might want to falsely argue that other accusations or rape – ones in which a rape really did take place – are false.
It’s also a waste of the taxpayers’ money.

The same as someone found guilty of said rape.
Same should hold for hate crime hoaxers too.

The penalty should be the same as that for Pimps who
make up phony polls to scam hits for their cheesy blogs.
The exact same sentence applied to people convicted of rape.
Because the false accusation of rape is the rape of a person.
Life without possibility of parole. Too many honest men have had their lives ruined by immature selfish brats lashing out because of their hurt FEEEEELLLIIINNGGSS!~
That should bring this crap to a screeching halt.
Triple the jeopardy they placed the accused in, plus 5 years.

Anyone who falsely accuses someone should get the same sentence they would have gotten.
My evil with of an ex-wife had me arressted on false charges. Thank GOD I was able to prove I was not even home at the time.
But I was removed from my home, lost business and had considerable expenses, well over $20,000.
When I tried to have her arrested the DA said “you just want to get back at her”
I told him I would file a write of mandamus to force him to do his job, since I was the only one who had an actual crime committed against me.
Without that, the witch was still using my arrest (for her false charges) in court against me in our divorce.

It should be the same sentence the falsely accused man would have faced.
As long as this remains the case, the lies and hoaxes will continue, especially with a political and social climate that encourages such lies.
The lack of actual punishment encourages this behavior in these people. If I call them mentally ill, that lets them off the hook. They are uniformly leftists who do this kind of thing.
There have been dozens and dozens of these fake rapes and “hate crime” hoaxes, and I will bet less than 1% get prosecuted, and even fewer actually have the sentence carried out.
5-10 yrs. Must serve a minimum of 5 before any parole hearing!
The sentence for using a fake poll to drive traffic to your blog should be public flogging.
A lifetime protection order to stay away from the place the false incident happened and the person the accusation was made against as well as a
significant cash settlement-
