We should start with bombing all of the mosques.
And how Amendment XVII has destroyed America.
Later
Im a little heartbroken to have to let go of Cheney.
Me, too.
I am also a veteran of that war and cannot agree more. We had it easy, all we had to worry about was the Iraqis shooting at us and we had the green light to shoot back.
That changed in 1992 with a new president. Suddenly the right to shoot at an enemy was withdrawn, to emphasize the point Marine guards in active combat areas were ordered to stand post with empty chambers. If you did end up firing your weapon, you ran the risk of prison time, a senior enlisted Marine in our unit got sentenced to 20 years in prison for protecting himself.
I can only imagine that things got worse under Obama.

They should go through the records and find the guys that were fired or got out early because they didn’t want to be a part of it.
Many good officers should be brought back to turn the military back to war fighting and not left wing experiments.
I forgot about the Harvard Graphics!
Garryowen!
I used to write for Hack. It is certainly his phrase and a good one!
read about AF general Michael Keltz, s canned for telling a junior officer he was drunker than 10000 Injuns. Unreal.

Back around 2001-2002 (IIRC) I had somebody telling me the positives of Rummy getting rid of aircraft carriers (proposed). I basically said it was idiotic. Then was told how smart he was.
I just learned something new today about Colon Bowell.
yes it did, thanks to Petraeus and assisted by...Mattis. I wish I knew who wrote what. This is a letter that was written by an Army commander in 2010 but only a little has changed.

In my book Rummy is in the same category as Cheney.
Here’s one. Found his article while researching the ROE (trying to get up to date).

I am thinking (and currently undecided about) whether or not Powell's idea to stop before taking out Sadaam was a good thing, knowing what happened after we took him out in 2003, but I think things were different then.
‘Destroyed’ — what an overstatement.
Victory is the remedy.
Petraeus did a lot more than just muster more forces. He studied three or so of the best counter-insurgency successes in Vietnam — basically an emphasis on protecting the villagers and driving wedges by paying off insurgents to fight each other.
But the reason why it took so long to find a decent strategist is the promotion system and the training of officers. Not enough mental flexibility for one thing, something General Marshall emphasized as best he could. And too much emphasis on ‘perfect records’ as the gateway to promotion.
