How Angry Will You Be If The Republicans In Congress Do Not Repeal Obamacare?
Econmic Collapse ^ | 02/23/17 | Michael Snyder

Top Republicans are now publicly saying that Obamacare will never be fully repealed. In fact, many Republicans in Congress are already using the term “repair” instead of “repeal” to describe what is going to happen to Barack Obama’s signature healthcare law. Without a doubt, the Republicans in Congress are eventually going to do something, but strategists in both parties are now suggesting that most of the key elements of Obamacare are going to remain once everything is all said and done. It will be put into a more “conservative” package, but it will still be Obamacare.

On Thursday, former House Speaker John Boehner made headlines all over the country when he said that a complete repeal of Obamacare is “not what’s going to happen”. Instead, Boehner said that Republicans are going to “fix Obamacare” and that they will “put a more conservative box around it” in order to keep their constituents happy.

Of course this isn’t what we voted for. For years, Republican politicians all across the country have been promising that Obamacare would be repealed once they got control of Congress, but now Boehner is telling us that all of that was just “happy talk”…

When the Republicans finally get around to doing something, they will inevitably declare it to be a great victory, but will it actually be that much different from what we have now?

Yes, the IRS penalty for not having health insurance will probably go. But there will still be coverage for children up to the age of 26, there will still be mandatory coverage for preexisting conditions, there will still be mandatory coverage for maternity expenses, there will still be some form of Medicaid expansion and there will still be subsidies for the poor.

Many of the Establishment Republicans (aka GOPe/the Globalists) are still the Traitors that they were before Trump’s election. Many of them are Soros funded.

The Establishment Republicans need to stop PresidentTrump to prevent their own crimes from being uncovered. These people are power mad, and hate the American people. They would much rather plunge the country into a civil war, than face justice or suffer financially.

Very. I’m not a socialist. Even w/o the mandate, it’s still a step up towards socialized medicine and more gov interference w/free markets, making the cost skyrocket.

Problem is, I’m already very pissed since most repubs have already been effectively leftist.

If that happens, we’ll march into their offices and show them the full measure of our displeasure. We’ll dog them by day and night. We will not rest until every single one of the lying cowards do what they were elected to do. They will learn what misery feels like.

I think most FReepers recognized at the time that, once passed, ObamaCare could never be completely repealed.

The optics of taking something "free" away from the "entitled" recipient are prohibitive.

ObamaCare will just hasten the demise of a once great, free nation.

Experiment was a failure - people were the problem.

I wear my MAGA hat knowing that a nation that could spawn the DemonRat party will never be great again.

Michael Snyder is advocating in this article what “HE” wants using old and tired scare tactics sorta like “the Russians are coming......the Russians are coming”!!!

John Boehner is a liberal on health care and no doubt represents folks in the medical insurance mafia aka BIG PHARMA. He doesn’t know what a FINAL health bill will have in it neither does Trump or Ryan or McConnell.

NOBODY will know until the wee hours of some morning a year or two from now when the Final Law is passed.

So this article is manufactured news aka Fake News.

Not surprised with all the knee buckling spineless assclowns in office. Has there ever been anything so well crafted that it can’t be taken apart? So, we have President Trump with the press, dementocrats and their partners on the republicrat side of the aisle against him. Not to mention all the moles in various positions all over the place. He won’t fail for lack of trying. Either the agencies can’t or won’t ferret out the leakers. The lyin’ king legacy continues.

The globalist RINO jackasses have made repeated attempts to repeal obamacare knowing full well obama would never sign off on it and knowing full well someone like Hitlery or little Jebby would follow where they’d get the same results.

But OOPS!! In walks Trump.

Their perpetual promising and attempts to repeal represent a mandate to repeal it. They had better.

Those who refuse to dismantle Obamacare aren't too bright. Obamacare is their gallows. Tick tock trump..

Angry...at the Republicans in Congress? I can't spend my life being angry. Psalm 37

My own Representative and my State's Senators, all three of whom are Republican, will have heard from me impassioned arguments brim with reason. They will be no doubt how I and others feel (whose support they must have to retain their positions).

If they fail in their performance on their duty, they will not be re-elected...

I could go through these one at a time:

1. Yes, the IRS penalty for not having health insurance will probably go.

That itself is the single biggest abomination in the "Affordable Care Act" (ACA). If the GOP eliminates that item -- along with the employer mandate -- then they've solved 95% of the problem right there.

2. But there will still be coverage for children up to the age of 26 ...

... which will be meaningless without the employer mandate.

3. ... there will still be mandatory coverage for preexisting conditions ...

Many pre-existing conditions should be covered, particularly if the patient has had continuous insurance coverage. If a person moves from one insurance plan to another and brings a pre-existing condition with him/her, then one of the insurance carriers should be covering the treatment for that condition. This is an item that can very easily be addressed in any legislation.

4. ... there will still be mandatory coverage for maternity expenses ...

I'm not sure I understand the issue here. Has there ever been a health insurance plan that did NOT cover maternity expenses?

5. ... there will still be some form of Medicaid expansion and there will still be subsidies for the poor.

These existed before the ACA, and they'll exist afterwards. The key here is to turn Medicaid into such low-grade insurance coverage that only the truly destitute would want to deal with it. In fact, I can see a scenario where the Trump administration's deportation of illegal aliens will go a long way toward fixing this problem in many states.
