Trump has said that if this election were based on the popular vote, he would have campaigned in New York and California and still beaten her.
True in that he would not need to actually win those states....only peel around 2 million from her total nationally.
The electoral college cost the Ds over 1000 seats from local to state to federal offices over the last 3 elections.
To be fair, Putin probably influenced some of those state legislature races because he had a personal dislike for the D candidate. And wikileaks probably released some devastating details on a mayor or two. But that wouldn’t have mattered except for the “racist electoral college”.

When the electoral college was implemented blacks couldn’t vote, so how could it be racist?
First off, no it would have advantaged them. And second blacks could indeed vote. SLAVES of whatever color could not vote.

There is no doubt that the EC was part of the compromise with large population states and small population states to bring them into a coalition (the United States). This was based on population concerns. There was another compromise involving slaves that did not count a slave as a full citizen. This “slavery related” compromise lasted until the Civil War undid it. The EC does not have to hang its head regarding slavery, and this article is false.
The need to compromise between large population states and small population states is still with us.
Anyone seeking to change the rule would be welcome to do so except that it must be done via a constitutional amendment.
Michael Moore is wellcome to try.
