There is no doubt that the EC was part of the compromise with large population states and small population states to bring them into a coalition (the United States). This was based on population concerns. There was another compromise involving slaves that did not count a slave as a full citizen. This “slavery related” compromise lasted until the Civil War undid it. The EC does not have to hang its head regarding slavery, and this article is false.

The need to compromise between large population states and small population states is still with us.

Anyone seeking to change the rule would be welcome to do so except that it must be done via a constitutional amendment.
Michael Moore is wellcome to try.
