Or as another viewer puts it "the blow by at ignition before the bullet leaves the barrel. The shock wave behind the base of the bullet on exit. And the particles of un-burnt propellant after everything else has cleared the chamber".

Interesting to see smoke exit the muzzle ahead of the bullet.
I would not have expected that. Guess it gets around the bullet and blows out through the grooves.

Me too. Furthrrmore, i think the Snowflakes prefer Glocks and M&Ps because 40 ounces of Browning 1911 steel is to heavy.
I’ve tried all the plastic guns and tried to like them.
I just can’t.
This snowflake quit carrying a 1911 about 6 years ago, that steel does get heavy by the end of the day.
But I balanced it out by moving from a .45 to a 10mm.
I hate to admit it but I moved to polymer for carry and my favorite range gun is now a S&W 625 revolver. My 1911’s have turned into safe queens. I still couldn’t bring myself to sell them though. They are works of art.

Now I know what I want for Christmas.
I carry a S&W 649, .357 magnum. All steel.
My range has an extensive collection of rental guns but I don’t think they have any .45 acp revolvers, so I haven’t shot one.
Most Sunday services at the Church of John Moses Browning find me shooting 100 rounds of .22 out of my Buckmark, on occasion I mix it up with the 1911 or my Hi-Power.
I retired my .22s when the ammo dried up.
45 auto in an N frame revolver is just a dream to shoot. If I could afford another I would buy it, my boys demand their turn with the 625 at the range and I don’t get enough trigger time.
I am the furthest thing from a snowflake, and I am a huge Glock fan.
I think the .45 ACP is an excellent cartridge, and the 1911 is an superb platform. Just not in my hands. I shoot 9mm better than I shoot .45 ACP; and of all the 9mm’s I’ve fired, I think the Glock 19 — for me — is the best. I also really like the Glock 26 and in a real sub-compact the Glock 43.
The .22 seems to be coming back, although not as cheap as it once was. Case quantities are showing up on Gunbroker again and it has come down to $.07 a round.
I don’t think we’ll ever see $.03 a round again.

Then I tried an FX-45.
Now it is my favorite ‘day-to-day’ .45ACP.
I still love my 1911s, though. They are works of mechanical art.
Other than small game hunting, I’ve replaced all of my plinking guns with guns chambered for rounds that I can reload. And honestly, plinking with a 9mm carbine is more satisfying.
