I carry a S&W 649, .357 magnum. All steel.
My range has an extensive collection of rental guns but I don’t think they have any .45 acp revolvers, so I haven’t shot one.
Most Sunday services at the Church of John Moses Browning find me shooting 100 rounds of .22 out of my Buckmark, on occasion I mix it up with the 1911 or my Hi-Power.
I retired my .22s when the ammo dried up.
45 auto in an N frame revolver is just a dream to shoot. If I could afford another I would buy it, my boys demand their turn with the 625 at the range and I don’t get enough trigger time.
There are a few really good and reliable 1911-22lr pistols now. The GSG is my favorite. As for 45acp, if you ever shoot a Beretta 8045 next to a classic 1911, well, there is a good alternative now to the beautifully engineered 1911.
