There are several interesting 9mm carbines out there, any recommendations?
I don’t shoot girl’s pistols. I’ve had 1911’s my whole life, and Teflon toy pistols have never appealed to me.
I’d second that in a heartbeat.
Considering that his M2 machine gun is still in use by the military after more than 75 years, it would be a fitting tribute.
I carry my Kimber daily. Love that gun.
Try a PCP air rifle, something like a Benjamin Marauder in .22 or .25 cal.
I can shoot my USFT (custom job from MAC1 airguns in SoCal) .177 for about a year filling off a 4500 psi SCUBA tank that costs 5-10 bucks to fill and pellets are about 12 bucks for 500. It runs 910 fps when it’s dialed in good.
Hear Hear!!!
I went cheap with the Hipoint. It’s pretty accurate, I have an occasional problem with trigger reset, they have a lifetime warranty but I haven’t gotten around to getting it looked at.
It will make steel ring or cans fly!
I like the smell of burning powder and find reloading a relaxing pastime.
Oh, that definitely works too! I’ve saved brass forever in anticipation of getting a reloader.
Warning: Reloading is addicting.
I you have enough brass saved, you could probably trade some of it for other components and tools. Especially if you have calibers not fired by police or military.
Another Smith .45 fan here. Have a 25 no dash (1959) model 1955 Target cut down to 4” with a very slick action job and “coke bottle” stocks.
Anybody here have a Rock Island Armory 1911?
Opinions?
Why does the case hit the slide on the way out? That looks like trouble.
Over here, over here!
Aye! ( raises left hand with glock in it)
I think that is part of the design, I’ve resized 10 of thousands of dents out 45 auto brass over the years.
There are a few really good and reliable 1911-22lr pistols now. The GSG is my favorite. As for 45acp, if you ever shoot a Beretta 8045 next to a classic 1911, well, there is a good alternative now to the beautifully engineered 1911.
I don’t but a friend does; well made and the price is right...he says it was finicky with cheap mags but otherwise runs like a champ when fed from good ones. The one he got has all the bells and whistles (match barrel, fitted slide to frame, Novak style sight etc)...I’ve fired it myself and was quite impressed. 600 or so out the door, GI style models are in the 400 dollar range.
