PJ's Power Brunch was inspired by the Power Lunch Power Break authored by Jake Novak of CNBC. The idea started off a a joke by Yours Truly on Twitter in reply to Jake but soon I got to thinking that perhaps there is a niche for precisely the type of blog I have in mind. While Novak's terrific Power Break focuses on the macro in terms of the economy, politics, and culture in general, my Power Brunch will be sort of a micro version of it...sprinkled with (hopefully) large doses of humor.
So rather than, for example, looking at large scale trends in the economy, I will provide ground level observation including valuable money saving tips. Many of you already know I am a coupon fanatic. In fact, 6 years ago I actually used coupons to score a FREE laptop computer. At the bottom of today's blog I will tell you how your kids can eat FREE every Sunday this month.
Appropriately, my first observation will quote Jake Novak's column today and make my own observations.
