YouTube video -- very well done transposition to a minor key, and really creepy.

If I were a bit more ambitious (and had the video-editing skills) I'd put this to a video detailing the NSA and the rest of our shiny new police-state.

Wow.
That certainly gives the song a different feel.
Creepy is right.

(The above is not a statement of fact. It is either satire or opinion. Or both.)
To: Edward.Fish
I must be in a real creepy mood today ‘cause I liked it.

I disliked the original because it was pure fluff, IMO. I love this minor key version. Gives the song some much needed feeling the original missed by a mile.

If you pay attention to the lyrics of the original Police version, it's NOT a love song. It's a song about a stalker.
I would have liked to see a music video which emphasized this, with the singer watching the girl through hidden surveillance cameras.

Ever since the first time I read the lyrics I realized just how creepy that song is. Kinda like the Beatles “run for your life”.
Rock has a rather dark past.

Very nice, except for the drum rift where
the drummer goes all Sesame-Street-on-meth.

“It’s a song about a stalker.”
Seems like every Police song is about some mental case or another...
Don’t Stand So Close To Me - about a pedophile
Can’t Stand Losing You - about a guy about to commit suicide
Every Breath You Take - about a stalker
Murder By Numbers - about a serial killer
Roxanne - about a prostitute

I've been saying that since the early 80's

That song was always creepy.Yep. As it was intended to be. Sting once called it "evil and insidious".

So, I put this together a few years ago.
I thought it was good.

I really wanted to cut “Killing my Softly” by Roberta Flack or even the Fugees version with Obama speeches.
I’m looking to do a Hillary video and I’m torn between “Lump”, by “The Presidents of the USA” and Annie Lennox’s “Would I lie to you”.

The original video is very dark. Filmed in black and white, with close ups of Sting’s intense, unblinking gaze, it really is a very dark video, psychologically. It greatly does suggest some deep problems in the character singing the piece.
Of course Sting is a limousine liberal, so one should expect deep problems.
To: PapaBear3625
It's a song about a stalker.A ghost stalker at that.
