Too late. I doubt this anyway. Everyone is all over the place with this story.

A federal investigation is needed ASAP.

I have no idea what happened beyond the fact that a mainstream news source - CNN - posted that Carson was going to return to Florida for a few days after the voting.

What kind of idiot campaign announces this before the votes are cast? I believe most people who follow politics and heard that would believe he was headed home for good with a 4th place finish (as projected).

This is big smoke for a little fire.

I cannot find, anywhere at that shaky site you linked to, where Armstrong ever said/tweeted/announced Carson’s possible suspension of his campaign.

I scrolled/read the article, at link, and didn’t see him state that.

This is Armstrong’s complete comment. What part in there says that Carson is calling it quits? I heard him say last night that he’s staying in all the way to Cleveland.

“God morning :

The unmitigated gall of Barry Bennett and Doug Watts: To attempt to curry favor with the Trump campaign by delivering Dr. Carson’s campaign infrastructure on a platter is nothing short of amazing. Dr. Carson has built the most substantial, comprehensive, and valuable grass roots communications infrastructure of any of the current Republican candidates. Despite fluctuations in the polls, Carson remains a beloved figure who draws adulation from throngs of people wherever he goes.

Watts and Bennett did a great service is helping to guide his campaign – a service for which they were amply compensated. But they do an equally great disservice by holding lectures, going in front of the media and betraying Carson in an attempt to curry favor with Trump.

It is not surprising that these former staffers seem to be auditioning for new jobs with the Trump campaign. After all, they are professional politicians who need to make a living; and there is no chance in hell they intend sit out the rest of this campaign season. But the way they have gone about advertising their availability begs a question: If they are so willing to throw Carson under the bus, what will they do to their next employer? I’m sure this fact – and its dire implications – will not be lost on any campaign that has the temerity to engage their services.

But just to make it extra clear: neither Bennett nor Watts has any influence whatsoever over who Dr. Carson may ultimately endorse in the primary should the occasion arise.”

This it really great for Marco Rubio! Every day that this story drags on is one more day of damage to Ted Cruz from the uncertainty of what his role was in this affair. Could it be that Armstrong Williams ran PSYOPS on the Cruz Campaign’s vaunted ex-CIA operatives?

Meet Chad C. Sweet, Ted Cruz’s campaign chairman, former DoD/CIA/Goldman Sachs/Homeland Security.

Sweet co-founded the Chertoff Group with former Bush and Obama administration Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff.

As a leader of the Chertoff Group, Sweet “advocated for expanding NSA metadata collection.”

Meet Ted’s ex-CIA PR guy, Dan P. Gabriel. Gabriel is involved in SIGINT aka interception - which is turned into propaganda. His twitter handle is @danpgabriel and he was one of the people pushing the angle that it was confirmed to the Cruz campaign that Carson was dropping out. After called out on the lie, the agent deleted the tweet and denies everything in typical spook fashion:

Carson’s best move to reenergizebhis campaign would be to get rid of Armstrong Williams. He reminds me of one of Black lives matter or Luey Farakan’s henchmen

I guess that clears up why Ted apologized.

Wait.

Say what?

RE: The Carson campaign itself was causing these rumors.

The CNN post said that Dr. Carson was not carrying on to New Hampshire and South Carolina.

AS of today, Carson is nowhere to be found campaigning in New Hampshire ( although he is going for the debate ).

This website seems to be relying on the fraudulent posts of Cruz-guy Dan P. Gabriel in order to assert that it was Carson’s team that “leaked” Carson was suspending. Dan P. Gabriel DELETED that tweet, and then blamed his own rumor on the Carson campaign.

It is more likely at this point that it was the Ted Cruz campaign that “leaked” to CNN that Carson was dropping out, though, that said, CNN did not report that Carson was suspending. They only speculated on air, and Cruz’s campaign pushed the rumor even after Team Carson had pushed back.

Oops, typo. I meant the Cruz guy deleted his tweet about having “sources” from the Carson campaign tell him Carson was out, and then blamed TRUMP for “spreading rumors”.

He closed out his twitter page immediately after other Twitter users spotted this deception.

It is well established public knowledge that a Cruz operative started this mess .. what amazes me is that you Cruz folks are still trying to spin the truth ... just answer this :

Why did Cruz apologize if it didn’t emanate from the Cruz campaign ?

This isn’t really “Breaking News,” as the article info doesn’t even match the headline.

Carson campaign clarified that they were not leaving the race but the Cruzers still sent out the misinformation to their precinct captains.

“7:50 p.m.: Carson camp clarifies he just has to go home for “fresh clothes”

Shortly before 8 p.m., a Carson spokesman tweeted the candidate was “not standing down” and was simply returning to Florida to “get fresh clothes” and dodge a winter storm in Iowa. The spokesman told TPM Carson would be in D.C. Wednesday and Thursday for a “campaign event,” and then would continue on to New Hampshire. “

My question is: Why did Carson even have to say anything, just slip quietly out the backdoor and GO home...(actually no one would miss him)

Never thought much about Armstrong until the last few months. He is NOT who I would pick for a spokesman. Saw an interview e did a while back and he was not helpful to Dr Ben.
