After re-watching the disastrous debacle of the Republican Debate from CNBC, I decided to spend time on youtube to watch old debates. Specifically, historical ones. The first observation is that the moderator stays completely out of the way. They allowed each candidate enough time to explain their positions. They did not interrupt in an attempt to debate the debater. They did not insert their opinion on what was just said.
The bottom line, today's news media is so drunk on themselves and their importance and their bias that they completely have turned debates into a sports spectacle instead of something of we all can actually learn from.
The CNBC debate was one of the most embarrassing moments in our nation's media history.
FYI All: Ronald Reagan nails it just after the 8 minute mark.
Thanks for bringing us that!
What a change from the past, which worked very, very well!!!
An actual debate..... but, how?
Where are the smug cable news dorks? The biased questions from Twitter? The 532 candidates on stage?!?!!?!
This video needs a “trigger warning” for sanity!
Two people = a debate.
Ten people = almost useless
Ten people = almost useless
They should do it like basketball bracketology.
He just owned Bush, and Reasoner. He pulls that UPI report out of his coat.
Unbelievable. Bush was a globalist from the beginning. His answer on supply side tax cuts.
Amazing.
Good observations.
Choosing Bush as his VP was RR’s biggest mistake. IMO
I get a sense it was a compromise pick. I’m not sure how those things are sorted, but history seems rife with Presidents having real trouble with their VP picks.
There was a good video circulating about Gore asking a stupid question at an art gallery and Clinton just walking away from him. Wow, what a mess Gore was.
Later in that debate RR addresses the choice of VP being a “counting the delegates” thing.
I remember that Algore moment. He asked who a bust of George Washington was, I think.
I had a lib friend who was going to vote for Algore in 2000. She was a nice lady but just ignorant. I persuaded her to vote for Nader. She caught on after the election and never spoke to me again. LOL
My kids in HS are being told Trump is an idiot. They keep coming home with that. Don’t underestimate the left. They own so many venues, and kids have been taught not to question anything anymore.
Liberalism used to get by on passive support. You can only do that for so long with policies designed to control people. Eventually, the frog in the pot realizes its getting warm in the pool.
That’s when the lid goes on.
If you look closely you’ll see the loading port for the Winchester rifle as depicted is on the wrong side of the weapon. Clearly this image has been manipulated. Everything concerning this man is a lie.
Did you notice the text is all backwards? The image that wasn’t reversed was huge and I didn’t feel like resizing so I grabbed this one.
And your kids would be criticized if they stood up for Trump. It’s Political Correctness at work.
PC was designed by the Communists after the Russian Revolution to gain support. They designed PC for one purpose: To control the narrative. PC restricts Critical Thinking and Healthy Discourse.
The supporters of the Free Speech movement of the 60’s are now in charge and they are doing everything they can to restrict free speech. It’s the Commie way of doing things.
Liberal has been replaced with Progressive.
Progressive = Repressive.
My kids are now in their mid 30’s. I would visit that school and raise hell with them for indoctrinating your children for their political purposes.
“Would you like to respond to that?”
35 years ago the candidates debated each other. Now they must debate the “moderators.”
For me, it was, “Now there you go again...” At that point I went from believing he didn’t have a chance to knowing in my bones that he would win going away.
:)
