Speaking at the opening of the Whitney Museum in New York City, Michelle Obama implied that museums intimidate people who "look like" her, as well as "young people." The Whitney Museum is a museum of American art.
Ms. Obama began her speech by saying how beautiful the new museum was and by thanking Mayor de Blasio. "I also want to recognize Mayor de Blasio for his leadership and his passion, and for joining us here today -- absolutely," she said.
The First Lady then mentioned one of the themes that one of the museum's exhibits has, which is, How can we truly, fully witness the melting pot of cultures and sensibilities and struggles that make America unlike any other country on earth?
"This is a bold, very hard question," Ms. Obama said.
She continued that it was difficult for her and people who "look like" her to visit cultural centers because minorities are intimidated by them.
The First Lady explained, "There are so many kids in this country who look at places like museums and concert halls and other cultural centers and they think to themselves, well, thats not a place for me, for someone who looks like me, for someone who comes from my neighborhood."
She continued, "In fact, I guarantee you that right now, there are kids living less than a mile from here who would never in a million years dream that they would be welcome in this museum. And growing up on the South Side of Chicago, I was one of those kids myself. So I know that feeling of not belonging in a place like this."

“Woe is me, woe is me...”
Melting pots as they use the term imply something better comes out in the end.
Were it for any other purpose than explaining why our culture is being destroyed, the FDA and all manner of government agencies like the EPA would call it ‘contamination’, ‘impurities’ and toxic levels of substances that have been known to cause cancer in (take your pick): lab rates, pregnant women, children, etc.
“I know that feeling of not belonging in a place like this”
Well, I agree with that part.
Yeah, museums have scary stuff written in cursive.
Wow. I guess anything remotely American is intimidating to her and her homies. That’s the ticket, put that thought out there and it becomes truth. Perhaps going to a Museum is too ‘white’ for the radicals? Grow up and stop playing the victim.....it is old and triesome.
*tiresome*
Accomplish something, get recognized...
Is there anything these two can find that aren’t inherently racist?
Luckily for her, we've made up for it by giving her a huge, elegant home for free, a huge and highly-paid staff to wait on her, and all the free vacations she could dream of.
The communist playbook specifically pushes to promote ugly art.
Is that what it is promoting? Or that minorities are too unevolved to appreciate fine art?
And intimidating? Is that why she wore cutoffs on one of her first jaunts on AF One? To make it less intimidating and more accepting to her make believe culture?
It’s racist because..................history! The Mooochelle philosophy, if it aint Black, it’s whack!
And it is only a short step the the iconoclasty of Sharia for Ms. 0.
So Whites have to be kept out of museums because it’s unfair and there is a disproportional representation.
Truth: Whites appreciate the history and knowledge represented in museums.
Those who don’t, should STFU.
Museums are not easy targets to steal stuff, so why bother?

Michelle, stuff it.
There’s no barrier to anyone joining and conforming to Western Culture,
except other “crabs in the bucket” such as yourself
pulling them back down.
Appearently they are “intimidated” by libraries, library cards, and possibly speaking using proper grammar (white man talk).
I am so tired of listening to the “victim” B.S.
Last week Obamao called for library cards to be dispersed to Baltimore kids.
Get off your lazy ass and walk to the library and get your own cards. Not that you would ever spend a minute or an hour trying to read a book. Better time spent screwing black girls and robbing seniors.
