U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, released the following statement marking Tax Day:
"Tax day is upon us again. But this year its different. This year, on top of the frustrating reminder that Americans are giving too much of their income to fund too many wasteful government programs, families are now being forced to pay the Obamacare tax for the first time.
"Instead of government-run healthcare that increases taxes, limits options, and puts the government between patients and their doctors, imagine a free-market system that enables healthcare to be personal, portable and affordable. Instead of a tax code that crushes innovation and inflicts burdens on families struggling to make ends met, imagine a simple, flat tax that lets Americans fill out their taxes on a postcard. Imagine a tax code that is simple enough to abolish the IRS.
"More of Americans hard-earned wages should be able to stay in their wallets so they can be free to invest more in their families and businesses, not in growing big government.
"Tax reform is crucial to reversing our current economic stagnation, sparking economic growth, and expanding opportunity. Im running for President because I believe that together, we can make D.C. listen, we can repeal Obamacare, we can implement fundamental tax reform, and we can restore our nation as a place that champions prosperity and opportunity for all."
My oldest boy is 17 and is at high school, taking college full time and working part time at Winn Dixie.
Couple of weeks ago he got his first pay check , though minimum wage is still a lot for hm. he was excited to get his first pay check and opened it.
He opened it and just stared and then said” Dad they took over $20 off me and I don’t know what for”
I laughed and said “ yep wait till you get a full time job and they will take more”
He said it was robbery.
Now he knows how we feel most of our lives.

So true. That first paycheck is a real eye opener. I like the idea of a flat tax, but the percentage needs to be lower than what I’ve heard proposed so far. Only the arrogance of government would ask more than God does.
What recovery?
Cruz's hitting all the right notes.
We need REAL tax reform and regulatory reform to get the type of broad-based economic recovery we saw in the 1980's.
“He said it was robbery.

Yes sir. And, also why so many of our fellow Americans don’t get it! and will continue to vote for any democrat/communist that runs, regardless of how slimy/corrupt she is.
Sooner or later we have to get behind one of these GUYS!
I initially supported Scott Walker with $, but am now leaning towards Cruz. Hitlery is dead meat regardless of what the pundits say about her invincibility.
As far as Skeeter Mommyjeans is concerned, I fail to see why he isn’t wearing an orange jump suit and awaiting either the gallows or a firing squad.

$20.00 from a $200.00 pay check, perhaps.
AMEN.
The American sheeple don’t seem that concerned about keeping more of their earnings. It shows they are compassionate! Or uninformed
Cruz is Right but the Americans are Wrong!
We could give it all back to you and hope you spend it right. (Bill Clinton)
Most Americans cannot understand what your son experienced.
I don’t understand what’s so hard, if you want to be “compassionate”, to write a check to a local charity.
I would rather all states and federal would stop all taxes. We should only have a sales tax period. We already do with states but states have an income tax too which is wrong. Federal National Sales Tax would be wonderful as EVERYONE would contribute but you only contribute what you want to through goods and services. I think it would work. Of course it would be around 17 percent but I am paying a heck of a lot more than that now.
Sad isn’t it that he is only 17 going to high school and full time college and yet works part time as well. Then there are others who just never have worked, but demand others pay for their living.
