The president of the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce questioned in a meeting with reporters Thursday whether Sen. Ted Cruzs snubbing of the groups annual summit this week marked an attempt to avoid Latinos as he runs for president.
Ted Cruz chose not to come, said a visibly displeased Javier Palomarez, president and CEO of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. I hope it is not indicative that hes backing away from the Hispanic community in order to get through the [GOP] primary.
Other presidential hopefuls such as Senators Rand Paul, R-Ky, and Marco Rubio, R-Fla., also did not speak at the summit. But Palomarez said they had scheduling conflicts and that they had good relationships with the chamber, joining them at events other times of the year and that both men have attended past Hispanic Chamber summits.
If youre trying to get to the White House without openly trying to engage the Hispanic community, Palomarez said, youre not going to get there.
To be sure, Cruz is an outspoken supporter of small businesses, who make up the bulk of USHCCs membership....

No offense Javier but Ted doesn’t want to waste time addressing a bunch of RINOS and liberals.
Next thing you know, he will refuse to pander to the GOPe Chamber of Commerce as well.
Its hilarious how this ‘also ran’ is receiving so much attention.
I’m sure he’ll make an appearance for the UNITED STATES Chamber of Commerce, which should cover all the bases. Anyone who has to separate themselves into a little cozy victim group has effectively shut themselves out of the dialogue.
Or The Chamber of Commerce. I like this Ted guy so far.
Where is my “like +1,000” button?!

The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce summit must be like a small town Rotary Club.
If youre trying to get to the White House without openly trying to engage the Hispanic community, Palomarez said, youre not going to get there.
I hope he eats his words.
Hillary and Jeb are the Chamber of Cronies candidates
Maybe Cruz is just not that into the CoC.....
So he’s not pandering to a particular group of people that probably won’t turn out to vote Republican anyway? I’m liking this guy more and more by the day.
He announced his candidacy on Spanish media FIRST, IIRC! So if he somehow doesn’t manage to attend EVERY SINGLE FUNCTION they claim he’s dissing Latinos. Just a manufactured controvery, they’re crapping their pants scrambling to find something to bitch about. And if he DID manage to attend every single Hispanic function in every little BFE, they’d claim he was pandering at the expense of his Senate duties.
The group of Conservative Hispanics in Texas is HUGE! and loving Ted Cruz.
I doubt Ted will engage the National Gay and Lesbian Alliance either...
Numb bump
wpuldmt ja just KNOW that Javier and HOBIE were pals?
Pals and Co-conspirators
