Pope says equating Islam with violence is wrong
By Julio Severo
According to Reuters, Pope Francis said on Sunday that equating Islam with violence is wrong.

Pope and Turkish mufti |
Francis, the leader of 1.2 billion Roman Catholics, told reporters aboard his plane returning from a visit to Turkey that it was wrong for anyone to react to terrorism by being enraged against Islam.
Francis predecessor, Benedict XVI, caused, according to Reuters, storms of protest throughout the Islamic world in 2006, when he made a speech that suggested Islam espouses violence.
Benedict said he had been misunderstood and apologized.
The Argentine pope has been trying to foster cooperation with moderate Islam in order to work for peace. He said that ending poverty was crucial, because he thinks that poverty gives rise to the recruitment of terrorists.
In his visit to Turkey, Francis told the mufti twice that Christians and Muslims must adore God.
While he was rebuking those who equate Islam with violence and fostering cooperation with moderate Islam, it seems that he does not know a famous statement by Turkish president Tayyip Erdogan: The term moderate Islam is ugly and offensive Islam is Islam.
With information from Reuters, AP and Jihad Watch.

Another naif whose response to militant Islam is the path to disaster.

This is the Arabic character "nun" the first letter of the word "Nazarene." I post it as my avatar in solidarity with people of all faiths suffering persecution at the hands of Islam. Many of them are members of the oldest of our Christian Communities, dating from the days of the Apostles. They endure cruel, merciless and unrelenting persecution. They are Orthodox and Catholic, Protestant and Evangelical, Coptic, Pentecostal, and Baptist. To the persecutors they, and we, are all "Nazarenes." |

The Crusades were either a Defensive reaction to Islamic violence, or else the Crusades were Offensive agression toward innocent Muslims.
I suggest the Pope pick a side.

I seem to recall a parable about a bad tree producing bad fruit and a good tress producing good fruit. If Islam is the tree what are the examples of its fruits?

This guy has a permanent case of hoof in mouth disease. Sorry to say it, the college of cardinals made the wrong choice. He’s a rock star, not a pope.

They must have photos of him in bed with a dead prostitute, or he’s just an outright agent of global communism. It’s too far out for words.

So the Pope is as big of an idiot as George W. Bush?

Or both...This Pope is disappointing and scary. And I’m not Catholic. He should study the Crusades.
Wonder if he and Zero have regular cell phone conversations?
