Not necessarily. Sometimes it helps you to review your own thought structures and firm them up for reasonably applying your own principles in action. And once in a while, hammering on a point will make your opposition think twice before he/they expose their weakness once more.
Refusing to debate at all is a liberal strategy, you kow--not a conservative one. Hm?
